Re: One arm bandit fluorescent tube lighting

You need series starters......the ones with FS on are no good, in fact as has been mentioned by one of our colleagues going to places like B&Q and maybe Amazon will not work unless you find the right type.

I buy St155 starters, not expensive rated from 4w to 22w

Welcome by the way

Re: Inca Gold

I have to ask, have you tried the lights or is something missing as I can see the starters and ballast, which is all that is needed. Anyway, I could not get a clear picture of the inside of one of my machines as shown below, so taken copies of two manual pictures of Nevada’s, has wiring diagrams and...

Re: Merkur

Tough call, but needs rescuing.....in my view £300 is too much for work involved....but I have spent similar on basket cases......I would go £250 if it had back door.....

Are we actually allowed to travel around anymore buying machines with ever changing rules, I’m confused !PUZZLED!

Re: Marooned slots

Happy anniversary !!THUMBSX2!! something I can say I will never achieve :HaHa: Makes a change to hear a story of rescuing machines from been dropped off a pier as a year later they would have ended up back in the mud anyway. I would have a bucket full of pound coins with the number of people sharing...

Re: Merkur

So as Santleman stated, very similar to Mills clocks, see below. I did not take mine out as machine difficult to get to, but the mount positions are the same at back and it appears to be a roller type unit, like the spare I have also shown. I never noticed the slow timing like on Gunter Wulff machin...

Spitfire Allwin

Always have to have a look when you see an interesting machine on eBay and the below Spitfire Allwin is no different as very bright and impressive look, but then I look closer and see it has been mostly been constructed. A lot of work has gone into this, especially on the mechanical side. The flicke...

Re: Merkur

You may find a Mills clock fits. I will try and have a look at mine to confirm as these clocks are easy to get, I have a pile. The cabinet does not surprise me, but could be rebuilt. Funny I get less worried about woodworm, unless integral structure is destroyed, as some woodworm is part of its life...

Re: How fast can you back pedal?

Just finished my first commercial rebuild, bugger what a job. Cabinet needed a completed rebuild as worm/damp damage and the mechanism was rusted solid and real tough to get sorted. Was inspired by one of our colleagues work on sorting the veneer he did on his on youtube and your comments on the mec...

Re: Inca Gold

The lever number 2 is a coin detector in the carousel. If no coin goes around in any slot, it locks the operation. No spring should be there, see below. The hole, is a pivot hole for another coin detector lever inside. See inside below one which should be there. What are the issues you have? In term...
