Just replaced the glass in an allwin I have. 6mm toughened, cost £6 from my local glass place.

Just been & looked at mine. It has no spring on (although I think it should have), but the small lever that pulls the coin down is pushed back up by the long lever it's attached to.

I noticed that too, looks like a payout solenoid of an electromechanical wall machine.
A few of the metal linkages look to be home made too, definitely been messed with.
