Judging by the pictures before the restoration it appears they are not standard - but I like the coachlines very much and will happily be corrected - they don't look as if they have worn away....see below

I took some pictures of my Governor yesterday, posted them on a thread but they disappeared. So I thought that the new restoration deserved a thread all of its own. I even worked out how to attach my macro lens so you can see the exceptional attention to detail that Paul carried out.

Further thanks to coppinpr for fixing my Jennings again - it stopped paying out and he fixed it within a day after taking it apart. We had a very agreeable discussion about the fact that all of the functions of the Governor are mechanical - the 5-6 anti-cheats, the odds, the mechanism of the payout....

UPDATE: I took my machine to coppinpr's house, and he has restored it. What a top job. The chrome gleams, coach-lines repainted and the mechanism works beautifully. I have just looked at the one on ebay that sold for that amount. the condition seemed poor esp the chrome, but then again it didn't look that pitted - might it have come up nice with some polish and general cleanup? I am a complete newbie and just developing an acute enthusiasm for the genre so plea...

I have now taken some pictures of the dad's Governor. I noticed that the light inside is still there, as it happens, and I gave it a dust down. The chrome is in good condition with minor pitting behind the Indian's head....

Outstanding.

Perhaps I should have said that it has an original back (the other thread on the forum says that many of them are replacements?)
