There must be easier ways to avoid answering emails? Just kidding: hope you get well soon, Steve.

Re: VINTAGE slot machine website changes hands

Hi, BP and PC. Congrats on taking over Stuart's wonderful slottie site. Few minor queries, if I may? 1. Did Stuart's site not have a list of useful links? 2. How do I know when my registration as a member is complete? Or is this a work-in-progress? 3. Why am I asking these questions from PennyMachin...

Have you ever paid any attention to our politicians, JP? We must have a warped sense of humour to vote for any of the beggars!

Re: Beware the Elephant House Auctions

Six months? Unreal. In your shoes, I would have assumed the machine is gone and had them in the Small Claims Court ages ago. Trouble is, whilst I get the impression that criticism is nothing other than water off a duck's back to EH, I am not sure that is entirely fair. EH is a business, the purpose ...

Re: Reeman Dansie auction

I am one of those poor fools who bought a machine unseen via the 'net. It was an Aristocrat Sheerline and, upon delivery, it did not even get through the door: the case collapsed when the courier removed it from his van! Luckily, the mechanism was good and my son constructed a new case (from MDF!) u...

Re: Help save Colwyn Victoria Pier

Grade 2 listed? I suspect that was a bit of wishful thinking. In this case, they would first have to work out who the owner is, then hope it is one who a) has very deep pockets and b) is happy to gamble their kid's inheritance on trying to save something like this. Personally, I find it quite obscen...

Re: Help save Colwyn Victoria Pier

Sometimes, things are just too far gone to save. Preservation needs to start before the rot reaches the point of no return. In this case, it looks like that particular ship sailed a long time ago.

Fantastic mechanism! I wonder what American coin is the size of our 5p? I thought their smallest was the 1 cent which (almost) matches our sixpence.

Nicely done, Paul. !THUMBS!

I surprised myself by being surprised at how simple (and effective) this mechanism is. I guess I have gotten too used to looking at a PCB and immediately avoiding any further thought on the matter.

Good luck to the enterprising chap who saw where a few quid in profit could be made. This country needs more of this to bolster up the income tax receipts and pay for those badly needed public services we hear so much about. !!ESCAPE!!

Re: Colwyn Bay pier

I love piers. Large or small they are a joy to walk and, where possible, it would be nice to see them preserved. From the video, however, it looks like to restore this pier you would have to demolish it and rebuild from the ground up, replacing every component with a new one. Even from a distance, i...

I might need to clear my machines out of the conservatory in the next couple of months (it is about to become a craft room for SWMBO, I think :-( ), so whatever Mr PM decides is good for me!

Hi, Rdog and welcome to the PennyMachines site. The most common advice offered to new members is : !TWWP! I have no doubt some of the resident Gurus will be able to offer advice, but they do need something to work with and photos work best (the rest of us are just a bit nosey and like to see what yo...

Some very nice machines at both auctions but, if I had any money, I would be at Coventry. Two of the machines on my list of 'I wants' are there. :#:

Plus, I like bacon butties!

Good luck to all collectors this weekend.

I am so sorry, but I laughed when I read the taxi call. I read it and thought " who on Earth is Mike.." and I laughed. Out loud, too. I will go to my room and think about what I have done.... :#:
