Re: Birnbeck pier Weston-super-mare
Brilliant news BP, lets hope it all works out this time. The previous plan, by the private owners, was to build retail and housing on the land adjacent to the approach road, the rents from which, would support maintenance of the pier section but the initial repairs were reliant on Lottery funding. ...

Facebook, please Mr P don't do it. It will be the downfall of this brilliant site as it has with many others.

Re: Early shooter by New Polyphon
Interesting machine but why the complexity of the token when just ringing the bell and returning the coin would be so much simpler? I guess this is because there is extra profit to be made if the token is of less value than the coin. The winning coin runs down the chute to free the pull slide for d...

Re: Tumbling-in
Hi Pete, Somehow, I don't think your supplier is selling you Polycarbonate. I have used and machined Lexan for many, many years, including cutting 19" diameter discs 8mm thick on a metalworking lathe, without any problems. Yes, Some suppliers just don't want small order customers or they want ...

Great looking machine, well done **xXx** Quote; luckystar said.--- The first one I painted up, drilled the centre hole - this cracked the circle in half. Some of the plastic would not drill right. I even used a hot nail to start the hole off. I completed one circle with all the pins painted and it ...

There is also a Belisha beacon each side of the traffic signal so this would date it to around 1934 when the first ones were installed in Britain.

Telly-Go-Round at Herne Bay
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HhVAZP42NBE I came across this coin opp charity collecting machine on the promenade at Herne Bay, Kent, last weekend. Originally designed and built by the members of the Herne Bay Rotary Club in 1967 this is the third major rebuild completed in 1983 with minor revamps...

I’m not sure Sweetmeats that the Lord George Clowes photo and the photo immediately above are of the same location because the promenade railings behind the top row of machines are very different from those in the above photo. In the Lord George photo they have a filigree leaf pattern running betwe...

I have used the standard Table X 35mm copper tube as used in plumbing applications and it has worked perfectly with old pennies . This Table X tube is 35mm o/d with a wall thickness of 1.2mm.
It is available in short lengths (100mm) on eBay.

Re: More bloody stupid ebay rules
Ebay seems to think that a buyer should buy the item, then view it, and if it is not suitable the seller provides a refund. Like that is going to happen! But surely there is going to be a hell of a lot of negative feedback as the seller takes revenge on the buyer. Not fair on the buyer when the sel...

Rather than re-send the link I think it would be better if you fire up You Tube and type JAQUET DROZ CORPORATE MOVIE into the search box and then open from the list.
