Jubilee Tankards & Sevens payout puzzle
Dear all, My dilemma is my Jubilee bandit, Tankards and Sevens. It will only pay out small wins and will not pay out the jackpot of 5 shillings. It runs on two goes for sixpence, so I'm looking for a 10 coin payout. It only pays out 2. I've checked and checked and looked and pondered and inspected a...

Re: Scrap metal allwin and other projects
Hello J, Yes, a memorable day for me. Are you still in the land of the Rolling Stones... my old home town? Yes, wonderfully simple mechanism that converts one horizontal movement into another but changes it through 90 degrees without using any gears, worms, crowns, pinions or levers - just two angle...

Re: Up to speed
As requested, a few pics, including homemade coin chute for Win a Mint and new case for Jubilee bandit. The original was a walnut laminate with most of the wood turned to dust courtesy of woodworm. When I collected this machine, it swayed from side to side as I picked it up and placed it in the boot...

Re: A sad day
I've seen several plans and, yes, the plan you mention is the one everyone wants. However, the other plan in the running which is typically designed around private commercial gain, i.e. housing and retail, is just awful. I'm praying for Dreamland to once again rise from its slow last 30 year demise....

Re: a sad day
No, same fire but my god was it that long ago? Time has flown. The other big fire was the arcade on the sea front that left a huge gap in the terracing.

A sad day - Dreamland fire
Topic merged - Site Admin. Dreamland4a.jpg After reading BP's update posted in December re Margate's coaster which was reportedly the oldest remaining in Europe and 2nd oldest in the world, I thought I would share some photos I took after leaving work in Medway and driving home to Westbrook followi...

Up to speed
Topic moved and merged - Site Admin. Dear all, my first project was the scrap metal allwin and I did relent and tidy it up just a little, but not enough to spoil its scrappish charms with groans rattles and clonks. I will post a picture for further amusement. 2nd project - I was very fortunate to b...

Re: Scrap metal allwin
Ha ha! Absolutely no reason to have more than one ball - the gutter that holds the ball in storage is 2 inches long, so I put a few balls in.

Re: Scrap metal allwin
Welcome to the club my friend, you have done a great job there. If you search around the Resource section, there are scans of Allwin backflashes that might finish the job, or maybe just a polished metal sheet to keep with the theme. The main thing is that you have done the job with care and attenti...

Scrap metal allwin and other projects
Well, it was something to do in the shed - wasn't meant to replicate an actual machine, just roughly knocked up and welded together - the challenge being to design a mechanism that actually worked from what I could remember seeing in the arcades at Broadstairs and such resorts, childhood memories. S...
