Thanks for the heads up BP. Looks a good match. I'll look into that. Hopefully not too expensive. I need a lot of paint. :)

Re: Flashwin

It is a flashwin and I’m looking for a close up image of where switches are attached. Never seen one in the flesh before.

Wonders paint

Working on a Wonders plywood cabinet resto. Is anyone familiar with the dimpled paint technique and how to achieve this effect?

Bought a project recently, first ever electromechanical machine and is in need of some repair. Can anyone please help with an image of what the set up should be. This is how it arrived.

Re: Shefras Extrawin penny arcade machine - Repair needed

Think probably way to go gameswat. I'll give that a try and, if it does go Pete Tong, at least I know it can be welded to have another go. With regards to the base Tom, I’m happier to remove as much of the worm as possible. It’s actually worse than it looks in the picture. It’s a sponge. I’ve alread...

Re: Shefras Extrawin penny arcade machine - Repair needed

Machine has arrived and is as bad as it looks, working on backflash at the minute but can anyone advise what type of wood base of cabinet is made from as needs replacing, also is it possible to weld over holes in hammer and drill them again not sure if particular metal will take a weld ? Any info mu...

Re: Shefras Extrawin penny arcade machine - Repair needed

Hello Bob
Yeah still a nice machine and appears all there. Not really a big job to swap that out. Was happy enough with the price mate. Allwins certainly up there at the minute.

Re: Shefras Extrawin penny arcade machine - Repair needed

Thanks Tom, not a big job, more an inconvenience. I’m not a fan of anything with worm. Don’t normally buy anything with it, historic or otherwise. It does appear from pics to be concentrated on the backboard, although a couple holes on the back rail of the cabinet. Will see how bad when it gets here...

Re: Shefras Extrawin penny arcade machine - Repair needed

 Looks like I’ve got a bit of a job on my hands. :) Pretty disappointed that info wasn’t available on saleroom. Spoke with them after paying and to be honest was fobbed off with “it’s in the condition report on our site”. Doesn’t help when you're not bidding on their site but, hey ho, been fa...

Re: Mills hi top

Thanks for info guys. I had an inkling before I bought this that perhaps it may have been painted. I can’t imagine the screws started out gold coloured (must have been painted a long time ago), but I liked the colour scheme and it had an escalator and jackpot. Never gave a thought that the castings ...

Re: Mills hi top

Hi grains, the sevens do indeed payout gold award token. I have managed to find reference to another, although picture quality is not great. I’m guessing now that slot in the side is a modification to allow the award chute to be filled externally, although can’t imagine why someone would go to those...

Mills hi top

Please can anyone shed any light on my latest addition. Had this Mills hi top delivered and personally have never came across this gold award set up. It has a separate gold award payout which is loaded in a slot in the side of the machine. I love the colour scheme on the machine and this is a lovely...

Re: Hawtins Allwin

Thanks for info. It’s certainly attractive and looks very well done. Here’s another picture I’ve been sent which may lend to it being an operator modification. Not so well done.

Hawtins allwin - unusual artwork

Wonder if anyone had any thoughts with regards to artwork on this Hawtins machine? I’ve always fancied one but never had the opportunity to buy. This appeared on FB recently and possibly a few members may have seen it. Artwork appears to be original although first I ever saw like this. Has anyone el...

Re: Coventry Spring Auction 22nd March 2020

[quote=brianh post_id=60418 time=1606672653 user_id=8633] This is an intriguing comment on the EH site (which could be of interest to Coventry auction setter-uppers) - any suggestions what Steve might have in mind !PUZZLED! Or is he just playing mind games? I’m a technophobe and have no idea how the...
