Re: Wellers Auction @ Wadhurst, East Sussex

I thought the same about the cash boxes. You are right about the prolific woodworm. Although complete, the bandits were rusted solid except for the Aristocrat Arcadian on old penny play which worked fine. Not bad for £150!!! However, not clarifying commission charges is lazy auctioneering in my view...

Wellers Auction @ Wadhurst, East Sussex

Today, Wellers auctions sold a number of slot machines on behalf of Authentic Reclamation Ltd I was visiting this week and took some photos. The machines were quite tatty and needed restoration although they were mainly complete. I chose not to bid as the auctioneers were advertising three different...

Re: Bally fruit machine questions

I am renovating a fruit machine for a neighbour. Hi Mike, Can you see if the model is 1168? If so, a Lucky Stars machine was made by Bally (built in Ireland) in 1978. I remember seeing these machines on mass around that time so I don’t think it was a conversion. As for the techie stuff, I can’t hel...

Re: Bally query relating to UK history

Another query…

One of the last Bally bandits named Quicksilver, seemed to dominate the British market in the early '80s-'90s. They seemed to be everywhere. Were they Bally conversions or the reel deal, if you’ll excuse the pun?

Re: Jennings Governor plating

Around 1988/89 there was an arcade in Great Yarmouth that had 10 Governors that suddenly appeared on the old 5p play. It wasn’t far from Barron’s. The bandits were in mint condition and I really do mean mint. The chrome work was fabulous and I’m guessing re-done. I can only think that they had gone ...

Bally query relating to UK history

Taken from another source. In 1962 Phonographic Equipment Company became the exclusive distributor for the Bally Manufacturing Company, of Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A. In 1964 Bally brought out their range of bench model AWP machines. These new models were in one word, sensational. The Bally Gold Award...

I was thinking the same thing TF. Anyone out there who knows?

Thanks for the heads up BP. Looks a good match. I'll look into that. Hopefully not too expensive. I need a lot of paint. :)
Wow. How many have you got? Are these original cabinets?

Interesting machine that wouldn't take too much work to complete. I was the under bidder in the room and on reflection should have pushed you further. I left the auction trying to console myself with the feeble excuse that I didn't need another allwin in my life. Well done. Was this the one for sal...

I’ll avoid them from mixed reviews but thank you Peter. Any idea from the troops as to cost of a complete re-chrome of a Governor? I’m thinking £1k. 🤔
