Jubillee Riviera symbols
Could someone let me know how many symbols in total on each reel are on a Jubilee Riviera 10p OXO bandit. I have been told 24 but thought it more likely to be 20.? Thanks

Re: BM Co. 'Fleet Air Arm'
My understanding is not so much that O. Whales took over BMCo but that they bought a quantity of stock from BMCo around the time of its closure. Apart from M.Wright's site there is some information on BMCo in Paul Braithwait's book 'Arcades and slot machines' available from the library on this site-...

Well said Malc, that is what this site is all about, not squabbles, bragging rights and one upmanship.

Re: Showman's Paint
Thanks for pics Bob, very similar to English allwins. Would they have been manufactured in Australia (do you have a makers name? It all helps towards the history) or perhaps they are English and the paperwork changed.

Re: Bringing them back from the grave!
Silverblitz - excuse my ignorance, when you say, 'spray into the lip and paint on', does that mean spray into the lid and brush on? Is that what you did all over? Fantastic job!

Re: What does this little Doo Hicky do?
I believe Willborl's answer to be correct. If the machine is tilted (yet wouldn't it be fixed to a wall or some other structure?) the ball would roll along, tilt the lever and so the holey arm cannot be moved when the payout knob is turned. Another case of Mr Bryan over-engineering methinks. Note to...

Rifle shooter
Re ebay item number 220950230437 rifle shooter. Does anyone know who made these? As a nipper I remember there being a row of them in an arcade - 6d for 20 shots and if you hit all 20 you got your tanner back but, no matter which machine I used, I only ever managed to score 19, which of course was ir...

Re: Bonhams auction results
Exactly! However do we not bid up to our limit including charges so perhaps it makes little difference whether it's ten or fifty percent commission so we end up paying pretty much the same price. High charges ultimately hit the seller the worst I would have thought.

If the operator pays out on two red squares (as depicted in photo) he would rapidly lose money no matter which two were revealed.
