Balfour Silver Queen identified

Thought I'd start by searching for Silver Queen on this site and lo and behold found the most fascinating thread in "Speakeasy" in the Arena section. If you are too parsimonious to have paid your £2 for access then do so now if only to read this entry! The machine was apparently manufactur...

Re: Forum on Android

I am not quite as devoid of mobile devices - one of my 18 year old geeks recently asked me for a "mobile self contained potassium delivery device" or to those of us born in the 50s - a banana. Guess what, I had a bunch of 'em.

Re: Wall machines where they should be

A less discerning class of thieving b.... in sunny Blackpool. A couple of weeks ago they smashed the window to an empty shop I have a few machines in, pulled the blinds to one side took one look at the contents and left them alone. How bizarre that I somehow feel the victor, rather than a victim. Mi...

The last time I got on a speak your weight machine, I dropped the coin and the machine said "one at a time please".

Re: Now that's what I call a slot machine!

John's obviously asleep in the colonies at the moment but somewhere I did notice a similarly priced machine in Miami last week, I think it was a coin operated banjo in a cabinet or something similar - I didn't pay too much attention being currently around $210,000 short of $210,000. No doubt we will...

Re: Nestle Win a Choc

Never done it, but would start by tracing around all parts on the existing backboard in pencil and perhaps marking a few key measurement points, then you'll at least have a template to work from. Good luck and remember the old carpenter's maxim, measure twice, cut once.

Re: Nothing to do with slots but definitely Engineering.

in keeping with the forum tradition of tangents which almost never return to the original subject I am doubtful but hopeful that Peugeot and Citreon could find BP a spot on their marketing teams. However his poetic way reminded me of the alternate name of the Ford Cortina which some of you may remem...

Laughing sailor doll

Have you ever wondered what happened to the sometimes frightening dolls from the laughing sailor arcade feature? Apparently, at least one has a career presenting the national lottery.

Re: nothing to see here

is it still not true that there a five prices for everything 1. What you paid for it 2. What you want for it 3. What you think you'll accept for it 4. What you're offered for it 5. What you get for it only you can answer . If you want it and can afford it then surely that's where the value lies. If ...

Re: Günther Wulff Prazisa running again.

Hooray for the locked thread

I am a relative newcomer to the hobby and the forum. I have met a few nice people and no rum buggers. I have got some bargains, I have made some mistakes, and mostly have probably paid the right price. I went to the Elephant House once and was disappointed, I didn't get to Coventry last month as I a...

Re: Günther Wulff Prazisa running again.

nice video, thanks for that. No doubt useful transferable information for other Gunter Wulffs I was watching it on ebay with a view to adding it to my Duomat, but I think (I know!) that if I'd got it then it would never had been as good as it now. One of the advantages of living in Blackpool is ever...

Re: Coventry Auction - Sun 23rd June, 2013

Cross referring forum topic about the trip to Blackpool and its astounding value. This afternoon I was in Preston and a local cafe was offering "Large Cappuccino only £1 - buy one get one free" - you won't find that darn sarf. Maybe next year's summer auction should be up t'North.

Re: WD 40, other uses

I have grave reservations about whether this will be of use to anyone on this forum but I have a teenager who uses it to fit the grips on his bmx handlebars. Now don't all head down the skate park at once. Great news about the slug use though, I shall apply some if it ever stops raining.
