Whales of Redcar Win a Nestlés allwin

Post by ddstoys »

Well I couldn't help myself - added another allwin to the collection, a nice original Whales of Redcar Win a Nestlés.
Everything looks original. Still runs on original pennies which I love. This one will only get a clean up, not a restore - they're only original once.

Anyone know roughly when these were made?

Also, does anyone reproduce the pennies only tags?

This machine was made 1955/56. I'm looking for a Traffolyte 'Pennies Only' label myself.

Am I the only one here who didn't know what traffolyte was? :!?!:

I wonder if you have to order thousands to get a reasonable unit price?

I didn't know that this is what it was called either but am familiar with this type of engraved label. Go to most engravers here in Australia and they will engrave on this or similar types of plastic material and cheerfully do a one off at a reasonable price. Often used for small name plates on the bottom of trophies or larger name plates for doors in gold etc.

The one on Ebay doesn't look quite right the type is too light and the border too heavy, I'm guessing that's the repro/new one.

Will do a one off for £6.00 but I am concerned about getting it right. Can anyone lend me an original label for them to copy or at least a good high quality picture of one with all the dimensions? If there is sufficient interest and they can make a good enough copy I'll order a bunch of them for other members.
