What a great looking slot machine

Post by coppinpr »

I saw this on the net (sold at auction in the US) and really wanted it. It appeals to me this one, and what a great name, although actually meant to emphasise its characteristics, it's a great stand alone name..."The Silent Sphinx"

Gave the auctions a miss today as bought this on eBay US recently.
its coming over in a container load of Jukeboxes in new year.
there is a little scuffing to the award card frame/box which could be a badly cast repro or damaged original?
Seller (100% feedback)assures me of no cracks or breaks in any castings.
This is an earlier Sphinx with the more ornate front.
The cabinet is supposed to be green and these were also made in a four reel Grand Prize version.
Never seen one in UK and wanted one for ages, so took a chance by buying on just the pictures.
Fingers croosed its OK?

Your right, a great looking machine, always been on my most wanted list. A great looker but not made in the quantites of other models of the time, the huge craze in anything with an egyption theme was fading when this came out so perhaps why it never reached the popularity of other models. I think yours is the same case as the top one though, but different colours !PUZZLED!
Nice if you could get the original award card design
