You'll be OK - bags of time! (unless you happen to work in New Zealand).
We normally finish paying in by about 5.00 pm.

See you there :D

OK, time for an update. This will be our biggest event so far, with 291 lots. I know I say it every year, but you really can't afford to miss this one. This is YOUR day, and it only happens once a year.

Catalogues will be back from the printers tomorrow (er, just looked at the clock - make that later today), so if you've ordered a catalogue, it should be with you by the end of the week. If you haven't ordered one, do it now!

I'm in the process of setting up a website to display pictures of lots, as supplied by vendors. I shall also provide online payment for catalogues. The site is primarily intended for the magazine, although at the moment I'm just concentrating on the auction. I've already posted a couple of dozen pictures, I'll post more as time permits. Anyway, take a look at the site - go to the 'Auction' button and you'll see a drop-down subbutton labeled 'Pictures'.

(I have actually paid for a domain name, so I can drop the 'webeden' bit, but unfortunately, I can't get it to work at the moment)!

Eh-up, was it £4 a catalogue last year that admits 2 people, i.e., do I need to buy 2 at £5 this time to get me and Mrs Cowman in ???

Read the magazine Jimmy, read the magazine! (Oct. issue). !LOOK!
For those of you who do not receive (or like Jimmy, read) the magazine, the catalogue admits one person. If you're bringing someone with you, they will need to pay for a ticket (£3) on the door. Please DO NOT order tickets in advance.

All pictures supplied by the vendors are now posted on the new site (see above link). I've also set up online payment for catalogues (on the main Auction page). There's not much on that page at the moment, just a picture of the catalogue and a 'Pay Now' button - but it does work! I'll try to add a bit more and make it look a little more interesting later today.

Got to get there early this year, as I never leave enough time to view and turn up 3 mins from the start... apologies, never even considered any kind of tip and am top of the list of offenders on this front and appreciate all the effort put in... so are we all going to get name badges this year to help know who is who?

Tom, the size of your name badge will be directly proportional the size of your tip.

Hello Brian. It should be OK - I've had loads of orders for catalogues over the weekened, so it obviously works. Try it again. I'll email you my email address anyway, just in case.

Here's the link again, for anyone who still hasn't ordered a catalogue:

Auction Disaster for me.... I never made it! :-(

Post by cheeky »

I am guessing, only for me because I didn't make it for the 3rd year in a row. Yup, entries in hand, money ready and full of excitement, today I am laying in bed with a chronic chest infection, laryngitis and a temperature. I can't believe it!

Last year I couldn't make it because we were snowed-in and the year before I had full blown swine flu.

Maybe next year and thank you to all those who help make the auctions so successful.

Another great auction by J&J. I got some spares, other collectors did very well with some machines selling quite cheap. Hope everyone enjoyed the day as I did.

Hey, did a member here buy the Novelty Merchantman spares? If so maybe they want to unload a couple of pieces my way?? If I'd been there in person I'd probably have bought the lot and passed on the other bits. cheers.

Bad luck Cheeky, the force doesn't appear to be with you.
Yesterday's Lap dancers hope you have a speedy recovery, and the Steward of the club was sorry he had to throw away your share of the free beer he'd laid on. :#:

Hearty Thanks to you all, you made it another soopah doopah day.

Jerry will get around to listing the hammer prices in The Arena after an extended and successful course of Mogadon in a dark room.
When I last saw him he was standing peering at a lonely bandit sitting on the floor in the middle of the room. I wasn't hanging around as I had only a few hours previously managed to off load one of the ones that was abandoned two years before.

There were machines and prices for all, an amazing spectrum that covered the most diverse collection of coin operated machinery under one roof.

It was a shame that we felt the need to announce publicly that despite constant warnings about trading in the car park it was still being attempted.
You know who you are, so do we, if you want a group of like interested collectors to stand around the back of your car to admire the contents of your boot, then either invite them around to your house or foot the bill of hiring a venue, renting tables, paying support staff, printing catalogues and coughing up for postage not to mention blah, blah, blah .... boring old repetitive waffle. Then invite them round to peer in your car. If you don't want to go to that length, then come to ours and behave or bugger off, for most verily you will not be welcome.

As usual thanks for your patience in the paying in and paying back out game. It is tedious however until we all have bar codes tattooed on our foreheads and a chip inserted in our elbows there is no other way you can enter a Lot, buy something, go home with your new purchase and your money in your pocket.
