Re: Brooklands
I 'm confused by that comment. All the examples in this thread have wooden bases.daveslot wrote:These don't have a wooden base, the case is made from a single casting.
Re: Brooklands
Interesting as when I saw Dave's response I thought the same as you PM and checked the thread. If you look closely all the machines in the thread are not identical. Then I remembered I have one of these machines, the whole case is a single metal casting, side, bottom, top, except the rear door. When I bought at first I thought it was made up, but now seeing a second this was obviously another model. Mine though has a wooden base bolted on to the metal base. Unfortunately every machine I have is now in storage as house is going through renovation so cannot get a piccie....

Re: Brooklands
I looked at that thread yesterday after this was posted and I think this one on page 1 of that thread doesn't have a wooden base, well I don't think it does. I realise this isn't same model as one posted either.

Re: Brooklands
Mine has a wooden Base but it's just been fitted from a Mills one arm bandit, i think all the ones with wooden bases are just what's been fitted by the owners at some point, I don't think they were made with wooden bases.

Re: Brooklands
If you're transferring a Mills mech. across to another purpose made case, you're then left with an old spare Mills case. Why wouldn't you transfer across the wooden base?
After all the handle seems to get used, along with a few other bits & bobs.
