Mills war eagle on 6d today at auction made £780 + comm etc

I looked at the pics of the inside and it didn't look right to me, although I hasten to add that I DID NOT see it in person!

For me, the casting look repro or they have been blasted.
The base plate looked old and rusty, but the castings (from the inside) and the jackpot looked much cleaner than the rest.
Also, back door was not correct and no Mills snake key.
Sorry if I have ruined anyone's purchase.

Interesting another one popped up on eBay on a buy it now the other day for £650 and sold. Thought initially was the same one, but this one definitely wrong as it should not be single cherry, often a quick giveaway, plus cabinet, back door etc. Also you often see the mechanism retaining bars not installed in these repros. I also believe the one at Coventry, the Indian figure had a repro machine in it. Still very attractive for the looks

I sold a genuine War Eagle 18 months ago at one of the collectors sales for way less than £500, go figure. !PUZZLED!
