Conveyor
Just wondered - would anyone like to see my home made Conveyor prototype? Exact copy of original but smaller than a Bryans Elevenses.

Re: Conveyor
I did make a floor standing one ages ago, made 5 of these in 2010. Can't do any more pics till I get a new scanner/printer as mine is knacked.
Re: Conveyor
Wow! What's the size compared to a normal version? I like the chain (is that plastic?) and gearing setup on the wheels, no slipping belts here ! Only thing missing is machine turned burnishing on those alloy mech plates, a sure sign of quality just like BMCO usually did.

Re: Conveyor
Yes the chain is plastic and 3/8 pitch. Each gear wheel is different, meaning each of the four wheels turn at different speeds. The overall speed is variable and the drive wheel from the motor has a clutch, to prevent jams. I made my own payout mech, and clutch assy, and cabinet with real veneer. The wheels are made from hard wood and I used stainless rod to make the pins. The wheel bearings I made on the lathe with steel bar. The playfield has lights embedded 'round the edge that illuminate when playing. It's a good game and nice bit of furniture. The machine is approx 1/3rd of original size.

Wow. That is a beautiful machine. I'd love to see any more information about building one posted. I'm guessing since you built 5 of them you made some templates up.

Re: Conveyor
Not really, a ruler and pencil plus years of knowledge building and restoring. Each one was marked out by hand and the playfield routed for the ball channel. I spent hours on the lathe turning steel bearings for wheels and making the slip clutch. Glad you like it.

Re: Conveyor
Wow! fabulous job; I just love the two tone case.
There is a lot of brilliant work here and the finished machine is a great credit to your craftsmanship.

Re: Conveyor
Thanks guys, it makes it worthwhile when people like them. I've not got a new printer yet, but when I do I will add more pics of home made machines.
