Re: Groetchen Mercury Deluxe 1940

Well, you're correct, but after a token is dispensed, the winner has to take it to the shop/bar keep, and at that point the shop/bar keep will visually look at the coin in the window to make sure it's not a slug. And some models of this machine took U.S. pennies up to a quarter, so the shop/bar keep...

Re: I am a LOSER

it's not the cost... it's the pride, the satisfaction, the knowledge that you are better than others, never mind that someone would gladly sell you 10 of those for $25 and still think you were crazy, and that prize!! that's staying with you for life, pride of place on your desk,a permanent reminder...

Re: I am a LOSER

Most digger claws can be adjusted for a soft or hard "clamp down." If set for soft, heavier articles will slip off the claw. Items are generally placed around the play bed with the lighter/cheaper items within easy access. Other more expensive items are placed right at the maximum coverage...

Thanks to Treefrog for help

I just want to thank this website and Treefrog for his help in locating a proper lock for my Allwin cash door. He didn't have to go through the trouble of posting an international mail package, but he did. I hope someday I can return the favor or be helpful to other members here with some input on m...

Yes, those dimensions work fine. Any lock you have that fits those dimensions should be fine.
Can you give me a price (in a PM) and shipping cost to Conifer, Colorado. I will give you the my address and contact phone number in a PM.

Thanks for doing this.

Re: British (or German) H&F lock needed or source

Thanks. Yes, it still has the pediment. I had to fuss with the unit that drops the ball after you put in a coin, but that was the only major problem. Otherwise, a little bending here or there (the coin chute at the coin cup was a bit off), and sometimes a ball would get stuck after entering a hole, ...

Re: British (or German) H&F lock needed or source

I had to drill out the cash door lock. No you didn't, silly mistake, especially since you're dealing with an overseas machine. I've opened and removed locks on well over 30 such locked machines by just removing the back plywood panel. And in worst case scenario when the screws are all rusted...

British (or German) H&F lock needed or source

I have an Allwin, which has a bottom (front) cash door. The Allwin only came with one key, for the upper door lock. I had to drill out the cash door lock. It says on the lock "H&F 585." I'm having a lot of trouble finding a comparable lock here in the states. An suggestions (manufactur...

I'm from the U.S. and have heard about many other confiscations of slots in States other than my own. Re: My new old Allwin

This much I can say, the red background on my Allwin, on the playfield, is plastic. This makes me think a revamp after WWII. It's certainly not Bakelite or some other material. And I noticed a lot of the early Allwin pictures I've seen on this forum, don't have the lower door to the cash. Mine does.

Well, I just got here about three weeks ago.

So ...

I still think it's a fact, the physics dictate that the ball, hitting a pin in the middle, will deflect in the opposite direction, with a little less velocity, but enough for the end cups to grab it.

Barely no skill, mostly laws of physics.
