http://www.quadibloc.com/math/sloint.htm...the Jennings Sweepstake Chief from 1950... This machine has the style of case introduced in 1949 for the Jennings Sun Chief. Here, the pear was added as an extra symbol, ranking below the orange.

Re: Mills Poinsettia - found in a skip
Incomplete and spare mechanisms come up from time to time in UK auctions. Ebay is an obvious place to look. EBay US offers more spares for Mills machines, of course, (like this 5c goose neck coin head ), but may prove more costly. The coinage it operates on may have have to be determined by what ...

Re: Mills Poinsettia - found in a skip
What an amazing skip find!
It looks eminently restorable and in better condition than many we see. Crucially, it appears to be mostly complete, with no visible cracks or breaks in the castings, as far as I can see.

Re: Rotary Merchandiser
It would be cool to see pictures of your Cromputer-Win.
I haven't seen one in a long time.
PS, I'm sure that fine-looking Merchandiser would have found a new (albeit wide-doored) home by now if it had a sensible asking price. One sold last year for £700.

Re: Coin-operated penny presses
This topic would be incomplete without mention of the Harvard Automatic Machine Co. Standard Metal-Typer. 21090378_1_med.jpeg s-l400.jpg Randy Senna demonstrates its intricacies and design pitfalls. Even when the aluminium token discs were readily available, these must have been a pig to operate ...

Re: Coin-operated penny presses
Considering it's essentially an all mechanical device, it's surprising it took so long to enter the coin-op canon. Since the 1980s - '90s it's become a staple at museums, theme parks and other leisure venues, where the public gather and a cheap souvenir might appeal. They come in a huge variety of ...

Re: Laughing Sailor auctioned off in USA
Can you post the link to the other one? I couldn't see it. There's also this pimped up version in Morphy's sale on the 19th: C: 1950. The Exhibit Supply Co. Chicago. A classic penny arcade attraction of the 1950’s. Deposit your nickel and watch Jolly Jack the sailor laugh and laugh and laugh. Often t ...
