Service, Repair & Restore Beromat, Novomat etc. includes a video (in Spanish) showing the brake release fingers working. They're set to drop the reel brakes in sequence from left to right in quick succession. The topic also includes the nearest we have to a manual (PDF).

That name also appears on the flyer posted by bryansfan.
It mentions the game was supplied on 6d, 3d and 1d play. I've not seen it on 1 or 3d.

Tim Wonnacott says, "a jukebox at that time cost £237, the equivalent today of about £10,000." But the 1948 Billboard piece has the Music Maker at $1,554.55 and advertises refurbished jukeboxes ranging from $1,309.75 to $2,015. Has the pound lost that much against the dollar? !PUZZLED!

Some of this I'd figured out, having read other sources, (including the long life needle). Historical sources have to be read in context. Industry promotional publications, like Billboard, are primarily written to sell, while appearing to inform.
