So I have came across this Jade poker machine. I have googled and searched for any info on them and with no luck. Does anyone know anything about them? This machine wasn't working when I got it but had a coin stuck in the coin mech and the coin counter wasn't counting, but have managed to fix them ...

Yes soldering may be a bit better. I may even tig weld it. I will see what I can do once I have the piece in my hand.

I'm handy with a welder so might go down the build it up route later down the track when I get to doing up the cabinet and reels

That sounds like a possible 'operators mod', done after the machine went out of front-line service. Bear in mind; a punter will notice if it doesn't pay out, but if it pays short perhaps not. Especially on a largish win like 20. Any way I can change it back to the correct payout amount? And if ...
