Re: Why spring loaded coin chutes on R&W allwins?

Could it be a pusher to help clear coin jams ! I thought of that too, but then couldn't really see how coins would get jammed in such a way that this arrangement would have had any benefit. Then I wondered if perhaps the springs are a bit of a red herring and are there merely to keep the chute rigi...

Re: Small turned metal parts

Back in the days when I was doing this sort of thing, I would probably have done it for £20, although many requesting such a job would probably have expected to pay a fiver, (including postage). I would be really interested to know what you have been quoted.

John Hayward

I learnt Yesterday (purely by chance as it happens), that John Hayward died recently - his funeral was on Wednesday. Although John had been off the scene for many years, his contribution to our hobby had been considerable back in the 70s and 80s, and he will no doubt be remembered by some of the old...

Re: Future slot machine auctions poll

I've received many emails over the last few months asking "When's the next auction.....Are you running an auction this year......You should do this......You should do that..." and frankly, it's getting a bit tedious! At least four of the emails received (including the one today) have come ...

Re: Octagonal mutoscope rarity?

They were produced over a very short period of around three years - from late 1890s to around 1901, but in pretty large numbers. I would suspect far more than ten have survived in the UK. The real rarities are the stands, of which I've only ever seen two.

Re: Lost Ruffler & Walker racer

Very nice, especially being the first to surface, could quite possibly be unique.
I notice two things:

1. It's going backwards, and

2. The slide mech would seem to imply that there's no coin return,

A very nice find though !THUMBS!

Re: Electrickery bits and bobs help needed.

There's a reason I asked if it had three leads coming out of it..........it's because I thought it would have -/00\- It's a suppressor. Your problem was actually solved in this thread a while back: https://pennymachines.co.uk/Forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=7179&p=26530&hilit=suppressor#p26530
