Re: I was only following orders...

There are always machines on fleabay but some are grossly overpriced and some are not what th...

Re: Hawtins allwin - unusual artwork

Never seen a Hawtins in other than the plain two colour backflash, suspect this is an operator or collector modification

Re: Allwin Elevenses ball hitting glass

ged8, have you got the correct size ball? If the ball is too small it can ricochet around the track. If ball size OK, then I would suspect the track, as gameswat has suggested.

Re: Ball catching games

Anyone know if the top set of forks in this machine are a 'standard' width for the Retreeva? They look quite wide, at least compared to the Payramid - but then I find the Payramid forks frustratingly narrow, even on the widest setting !!

Could well have been based upon the Lambretta MK LD first produced in 1951. The Mettoy models have more than a marked likeness to this scooter.

Re: Lost Ruffler & Walker racer

The style of those scooters with single seats suggests that this was based on 1950s style which predate 'mods and rocker' days of the early to mid 1960s. Not that I ever had a scooter - I had a BSA Gold Star 500 single - fantastic machine but a pig in traffic with its high ratio gearbox.
