Re: Jennings Witch and Black Cat

I have always been fascinated on what the laws were around gaming before the war as I can only assume the machines people like Samson were importing were for an illegal trade as the clarity around club, casinos and other establishments did not come until 1961, when you saw all the limited 12 coin pa...

Re: Jennings Witch and Black Cat

This was no accidental sale/mistake from a selling part as the auction house would have no idea of the value and the reserve was set at £2500 to £3000, almost certainly set buy the vendor and the description left intentionally vague... I would argue it is worth less than an original Victoria B as it...

Jennings Witch and Black Cat

Was tempted to post about the below machine earlier to help unsuspecting buyers, but always difficult as people don’t like things published and of course owner may be on here. Anyway at Beestons auctions in Norfolk a rare Jennings Witch and Black Cat sold today for £2500 plus £750 commission. First ...

Re: Auction searches

It is a brilliant service, but I could not get it to work from my iPad and seems to only work from windows or Android, so a little annoying from my phone. As with Mr PM, I must have got about 25 machines this year alone through this service.....there is a subscription though, so the £375 per year is...

Re: H.J. Bud-Monheim Monimat

Had enough today, still some cabinet work to do, but love the two types of wood used, sets off nicely. Out there somewhere there is a Vauxhall viva with a Monimat gear stick and badge on the back. Might get new glass done with awards and trying to decided what to do about missing badge. That black a...

Re: Italian Ascot Bandits

Funny the Elephant house machine is up again, two trips at auction and a few owners since, still not working and no hood or door and double the price on eBay. 90C0688D-EF24-4C12-853D-9A88DB038328.jpeg I suspect Italy would be the easiest place to get parts as they are more common there, only problem...

Re: H.J. Bud-Monheim Monimat

Ha ha, I really need to read previous posts in more detail. I was always told off as a kid for starting a book at the back as I could not be bothered with the bit in the middle and beginning.....BP had already pointed out the same issue with timing and the adjustment plate on his machine, genuinely ...

Re: My first restoration project.

I am assuming the backflash was a replaced, if so it would have been a good opportunity to have changed the wording to sit lower or allowing for the gallery, hindsight I guess ;-)
