Re: Matthewson (Automatic Sports Co.) games

Tonight’s Restorers had yet another machine, but this time something special. I have added under this thread as assume this strength tester is made by Matthewson, but is labelled Rowlands of Manchester who earlier was suggested to operate over 800 of their machines. It was a garden ornament and rest...

Re: Aristocrat Arcadian help

Yes, so the rod is there to stop the fan on the clock; great idea only used on Aristocrats. It should be pulled out to let the clock fan spin. You will see it at the back. I like WD40, great for breaking down hard grease and I will always use on parts that are gummed up. There are others that hate i...

Re: Aristocrat Arcadian Help

Welcome, Pennies changed to steel in 1987. Post that, if a magnet exists, which originally they did, they would jam and need rejecting. Also the post 2002 coins (fat queen head) can be thicker and affect payouts, so use older copper ones. I have thousands as I kept them for years for this reason. Do...

Re: interesting restoration project of 40+ bandits

Ha ha ha, the words “oh dear” come to mind. To be honest, they are bottom end machines and were in a state, so at least they work and don’t leave a rust trail around the house now. Except the Melon Bell, which deserved a better outcome. Not sure I understand the logic of changing all nuts, bolts and...

Re: Aristocrat Clubman & Clubmaster

If you look a few pages earlier, you will see this machine, which was badged the New Clubman. The only difference is that this machine has the coin entry from “The Aristocrat”. Shame it is missing the trim on the lower casting. I would say this predates the Clubmaster we know, and may have been the ...

Re: Unidentified Items

Never ceases to amaze me the number of unusual shaped cash boxes that come up, especially at collectors sales where no one knows what machine they belong to. I guess the older collectors who see these, maybe don’t know themselves, because the cash boxes are already missing on machines they own……. Th...

Re: Ball catcher wanted for my Oliver Whales Spangles allwin

I am sure you could make something to do the job out of scrap metal to achieve the same job, but if you have the broken part, it looks brass and should be possible to braze together as I cannot see this getting high stress. Almost surprises me it broke in the first place. !PUZZLED! This all assumes ...
