Re: Bryans Bumper
Yes, I gave that the most thought - kept coming back to it, but just couldn't get it to work successfully, so went for the striker to bring the pointer to the bottom.

Re: Bryans Bumper
When I say skill rather than strength, I use the term loosely, as there are 28 winning positions, chances of losing are slim. One of the more challenging parts to make was the star wheel. I had to determine the correct diameter to accommodate all the win/lose segments spaced out equally. The depth o...

Re: Bryans Bumper
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hXJ25mPOC3g&t=2s You push the handle down rather than thump it. The key is skill rather than strength. Yes JC, I must change those screws. Question of production run? I have no plans to build another one. The first one was a challenge - that's where the fun was fo...

Re: Bryans Bumper
Here are some pics of the inside this time. It's basically a clock mechanism with additions. The exterior chrome fittings I made from 8mm and 10mm steel sheet using a laser cutter to cut them out. They're really strong, no chance of breaking. I made the case to split in two, making it easier for mai...

Bryans Bumper
Here is my attempt at building a Bryans Bumper.
I made this in 2018. I also added a stand to compliment the machine, continuing the Art Deco style down the front and sides, all built to scale and weight. Works well and pays out correctly.

Re: Bryans Grand National
Hi, it's just standard oil-based red gloss paint, left to dry, then with a stiff brush flick on the black and white paint. A little practice required beforehand.

Fruitbowl token payout
Hi Folks,
My Bryans Fruitbowl is fitted with a token payout but I'm not sure how it is supposed to work. When I turn the handle it revolves one quarter and that's it. I'm thinking maybe I have parts missing. Can anyone shed any light on this for me please.

Bryans Grand National
No prizes for guessing what machine this started out as yes a Bryans clock, I've been collecting slots for a number of years now and always thought my clock is the most boring machine in the collection so I decided to do something about it and make it more interesting, so out went the clock face and...

Re: The Beatles and allwins
Yes I've happy memories of this place - it's Brean Sands near Weston-super-Mare. I had many holidays there as a kid. I used to go on those go-carts with my brother and sisters. It would be around 1964. I'd be aged 9. The guy in the shorts and no top was the operator. He informed us you should have b...
