Re: Please do not advertise items in the Forum

But the problem is that when I try to sell an item on the auction page, I get a message saying "your password is incorrect" , even though it is the exact same password that I used to log in to post this message. So if you can't get your website working properly, and I can't sell a machine ...

Item is still for sale, it just won't now be sold to a member of this forum.

Own goal maybe, Admin?

Re. Please do not advertise items in the Forum

If a moderator wishes to move or remove this post, then that's fine. I have a machine for sale and I thought that somebody here might want to buy it.

Re: Williams Straight Flush Pinball expertise needed please!

Hi, I have restored around a dozen Gottlieb and Williams electro-mechanical machines. I may be able to help.

Could I ask first of all if the machine is being kept in a warm and dry place, or a cold and damp place? The latter really is a killer for pinball machines.

Re: A letter to eBay UK?

If you want to sell a machine then surely you should buy a permit. Well, there's too much taxation as it is, and I certainly disagree that anyone selling a pre-decimal one-armed bandit should have to pay the Government £25 for the privilege. Having said that, I am currently applying for a permit, t...

Re: A letter to eBay UK?

It has been a hobby blessed with great natured and generous folk for the 30+ years that I have been involved with it, but now there is a collector who is causing ebay members to have their accounts flagged or suspended in order that he can buy machines at less than market value, and when I find out ...

Re: A letter to eBay UK?

It seems to me that there are two things which can be taken as a given about the individual who is reporting these machines to ebay. Firstly, they aren't doing it through altruistic reasons, otherwise they would report all listings of slot machines. They are trying to get specific machines withdrawn ...

Re: Info On Mills Roman Head

Funnily enough, I listed a Mills Hi-Top last night, and after an increasingly strident stream of messages insisting that I sold the machine to him directly, which ended with me messaging him There is no "buy it now" price, please either bid on it or go away and stop wasting my time. , with...

Re: Testo Reaction Machine

I've restored one (in fact, I think it's the one in the photo above) and I stripped it because it had been painted appallingly badly in Ronseal. Then I varnished it and it looked a lot better, although you should bear in mind that the cabinets are made of plywood which isn't particularly attractive....

Are prices falling?

I have noticed recently that machines don't seem to be making the prices they were a year or so ago. On eBay recently a Bryan's Clock attracted a highest bid of only £320 (which didn't reach reserve) and the machine was described as being in full working order and looked very clean and unmolested. I...

Firstly, I appreciate all of the comments from the guests, although they cannot of course be given the credence that they would be given if they were Registered Posters.

And secondly, I issued the County Court Summons this afternoon.

The point is that he spent a six-figure sum on that pier at a time when he was taking money from people in exchange for a magazine that he had no intention of producing. To be frank, he is lucky not to be facing criminal charges. Hunt is no different to anybody else who makes a contract- he is under...

In the email I sent you I gave you seven days to refund my subscription with my expenses and if you don't, then I am going to obtain a CCJ against you. You are no different to anybody else who makes a contract. You are under a legal obligation to honour it and if you don't pay up then it is going to...

With all due respect, I disagree with you. The law does not encompass vintage penny slot machines.

My own preferred method is to separate the top and bottom halves of the mechanism, making notes of where the various circlips etc are fitted and then give the bottom half a paraffin wash with a half-inch paintbrush, which removes all of the congealed grease and the swarf which seems to cling to it. ...
