More allwin window boxes...
Amazing how many unrestored allwins seem to be showing up lately. This little batch were first described to me a few years ago by their owner as "some spare parts" at the back of the garden shed. When they were finally dug out last week after some forty plus years, they turned out to be si...

Re: Allwin Window Box.
You're the second person to say that about the seller. Yes, he was a bit of a character! Didn't think I was going to get away as he wouldn't stop talking. He was just selling it for his boss so probably not too bothered about etiquette. I find Gumtree is a bit like that. First person to show up with...

Hoopers wall machine on French Ebay
Nice machine for sale on French ebay at the moment. Don't know it but it looks vaguely BMCOish! Going cheap at the moment.

Re: Advice with a Castle Front Needed
Come on lads where is your sense of adventure? @&@ A little bit of painting and polishing may prove to be quite therapeutic! Actually it's the mechanical tinkering that fills me with the most dread. Give me an allwin with a ball bearing rattling around in a wooden box any day! Are bandit mechs q...

Re: Advice with a Castle Front Needed
Thanks for the info Mark. I'm never too sure what to ask for bandits as the prices seem to vary massively. I've welcomed offers on it though. ATB, Terry.

Hi Guy. Don't know where you live but I've always used these guys. Good prices if you don't mind waiting a few weeks for your parts. http://www.google.co.uk/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=collins%20chemical%20blacking&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&ved=0CCwQFjAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.collinsch...

Niiiiice Vendor!
I'm not really a fan of gum vendors but when this one popped up at Kempton this morning I couldnt really resist! Never seen a vendor with a goose neck coin entry before.

Re: Ruffler & Walker allwin payout knob
Hi Mark, you could try Jez Darvill at:
(email removed to avoid Spam. Email or PM forum member from here: Retreeva - Site admin.)
He carries a lot of allwin spares so you might be lucky. I've got a few spare payout knobs but not one for a R&W unfortunately.
Happy Hunting.
Terry.

Re: Rare Mills Bandit in console case
A Silver Palace, eh? No wonder I couldn't find a comparable picture on Google! There are some plugged holes at the top of my case but they've been sprayed in brown crackle paint along with the rest of the case a loooong time ago so I would assume this one never sported the top turrets. I think it lo...

Re: Rare Mills Bandit in console case
Hi Treefrog. I think there was an earlier 1930s style castle top which was a lot more colourful. This one is plainer and the castle brickwork and ramparts are all part of the cast front, no clamp on bits at all. It has the original paint which although looks a bit dull, I think gives it a period loo...

Rare Mills Bandit in console case
Just liberated this Mills Castle Top bandit from a family that had owned it for over 30 years thanks to a tip off by a fantastic fellow slottie (you know who you are)! Love the Art Deco case on it but any idea when it was made and has anybody got a 6d button to fit over the 5c one? It is complete an...
