Re: Whales Playball backflash

Does any one know where I can get a play-ball backflash Ruggie, you also posted in another thread about your first Allwin which is a Play-Ball. The machine here by Whales is a 1956 Playball and unrelated to what you have. Yours is a pre-war machine most likely an Allwin Deluxe that was revamped wit...

Bolland's The Winner

I don't remember ever seeing this one surviving before and did search this site with no luck, but maybe just missed it as much to look through? I have an early photo for the machine with marquee calling it The Winner, so the original name at least stayed with this machine. Manufactured by BMCo I'm s...

Re: Misplaced queries

JP - the word is HIDEOUS! On seeing the first couple photos I was sure they'd had crappy modern cabinets made with pine. But seeing the before, sure enough there they are. Both just needed a good clean and detail and they'd have been magnificent. :NBG:

Re: Oliver Whales?

I think it must be a repro backflash, the artwork is shrunken, note that the left hand instruction is well under the ball rail, which they never were from new, but always fit snuggly and easy to read in to the bottom left corner under the ball rail, and if this was an original plastic that shrank so...

Re: Allwin Double Your Money

Double, photos of a random key won't really help, you have all the dimensions you need with your lock already. These were cheaply made locks and sloppy from new, especially so after years of use and abuse and even original keys will stop working well or at all, so best to custom fit the key to each ...

Re: Electrotechnics Gun Slinger info wanted

Tim, thanks for the interesting updates. A query I have is regarding the mouth action, or lack thereof ! In the videos online with the rubber face mask removed the jaw action was quite animated, but with the face mask in place I could barely see anything happening at all, a big letdown I have to say...

Re: Nic Costa's index cards - can you help?

Hey Alan, awesome job you're doing! But please explain how we actually add in the titles ourselves? I just looked around but couldn't see how to do it. Thanks.

Re: Jamieson Octopus Penny Pusher joins the show

With all those fluoro plastics I'm surprised these didn't run on blacklights? I'd like to see it tested that way as I really think it would pop and have an eerily underwater glow. :!?!:

Re: Fayre Win by Whales

So this Fayre Win just sold at an auction in NSW today for $2400 + 16.5% ($396) = $2796 AUD or 1480 GBP! There were a number of coin-ops in the auction.
