Re: Allwin Elevenses ball hitting glass

On the machine I usually just use an adjustable spanner tightened to fit the end of the rail, helps to place masking tape on the ends of the spanner to stop scratching, also helps to place another larger spanner a little further back onto the rail which helps support the rail and allow you to get so...

Re: Allwin Elevenses ball hitting glass

After the 1st revolution the 3 o-clock position is fed by the second rail that ends at around 1 o-clock, so that is likely the culprit, either it's twisted, or bent too far down which will cause the ball to bounce off the brass deflecting rail just to the left, or bent too far up which will cause th...

Re: Oliver Whales - Players Please

Hey PM, my comment was just about the two colors the machine came with. This photo below of a pale blue sign comes from this site and matches the playfield perfectly. But I've seen the same pale blue on quite a few yellow background machines. Maybe when they changed background colors they kept using...

And more about all the Matthewson machines here: Matthewson (Automatic Sports Co.) games I don't think Bob ever got a...

Re: Oliver Whales - Players Please

OK, so I have the same question because it turns out this exact machine queried above just came in for a clean up and then sale on consignment. The red marquee that came with it is hand painted over the plastic and pretty amateurish up close. The owner did create a fairly decent blue version himself...

Re: Pipe Dream

The game was soooooo slow! Bob and I played for over 3 or 4 mins easily and gave up half way through the game due to arm fatigue! It really takes some skill to constantly keep the wind direction arrow that sticks out above each globe pointing into your tiny little cloth sail. And all the time madly ...

Yes Arrgee, spot on. Lambretta LD125 Mk.I 1951 or '52 model. Those two rear holes changed in 1953.

Re: Helicopter Race

Well, thanks to Daveslot's info about the scooter riders, he just answered this old question of where did the original helicopters come from, also by Mettoy!

Re: The Undiscovered

PM, looks like a grip tester, I imagine the flags or banners either side light up as you progress.
