Re: Chester Pollard Play Golf

50 to 60 seems very low. It is a rare game compared to the Play Football, but I've seen 8 to 10 in person on my travels and know of at least 4 that were in Aust. Bob Klepner traded a burnt one to New Zealand and later sold his beautiful example to the US. That would mean a huge survival percentage c...

Re: Polo anyone?

Not on location, that second photo was taken at Greg McLemores house, most likely at the time of the 2005 COCA visit. The marquee is not original but an average painted version done in the UK before he purchased.

Re: Chester Pollard Play Golf

Hey Dan, was searching old emails but hadn't even bothered saving pics of the Golf/bagatelle conversion I was offered in Qld. But amazingly did find an email that reminded me I was also offered another re-vamped example on a US trip in 2007! John Papa goes on about his restored example as being this...

I was offered one years ago in Qld but it had been butchered with the later pinball playfield revamp done in the US once pins had taken off in the mid '30s. The golfer no longer turns, just shoots the ball. It had a poker theme to it and th...

Re: Mutoscope - what adjustments are possible?

just need to work out a way to overcome that? Good luck, you'll be the first person to ever figure that out! The repro reels being sold like yours are faulty goods and I can't see how that guy has stayed in business selling the damned things? I guess his customers just don't know what a proper reel...

Re: Saleroom roundups

I photographed this Waltonian back in 2005 and gave a print of it to Pat Gresham the next time I visited in 2007. Pat said Jon had taken it from an operator even though he didn't want it, which he often did knowing that they may call again with something he did want. It was left outside in the woodp...

Just Patent number info on every one I've seen. Look up Seven Mysteries thread on here for many photos.

Re: Holy allwin Batman!

The wire appears to be there as a spring to return the button that was once in the ferrule. Considering the location then would seem to be a reject button or somehow associated to coin entry?
