Re: R&W Many Happy Returns Allwin

Yes, that period would be about right. Most likely to have been made by B.M.Corteen Ltd. badged and distributed by Ruffler and Walker. Corteen was at Croydon at this time, moving to Erith about 1956.

Re: Garrett's cigarette vending machine

I thought this looked similar to sweetmeats' flyer.
The photos are of an exhibit in Rustington museum which is in the process of being moved to another building. The machine is made of metal. No other information I'm afraid.

Re: Samson Arcade Crane

You're welcome lohr. Yes, the dates you have noted will be right. France banned slot machines from 1936 which stayed in place for many years. Re: Samson Arcade Crane

Welcome to the forum lohr500. In case you are unaware, Samson Novelty Company was most likely the distributor of your crane in the UK. It appears to be a 'Le Pont Transbordeur' made by Bonzini and Sopransi, two Italians who moved to France. A very nice crane - thanks for posting.

Re: Amusement Equipment Co. Ltd. catalogue

Re: Whittaker Brothers Le Mans 1d Play

Thanks for posting these, Rippy. What a pity some of these machines posted by Rippy and TF have not been recreated for modern arcades. At least you would get a feeling of money's worth when playing.

Catching the coins being chucked down the glass was a big part of the fun in playing the large version.
