Re: Geo Joyce & Sons Ltd. ABC Belfrute identified
Another variation comes to mind - I remember seeing a large machine at the back of Botton's arcade, it was a strange one which looked as though it was made from a modified Film Stars. It was huge, sited against one wall, with the octagonal top display. It was grey in colour. I would guess that it wa...

The "character face" signs brought back some memories! Bet they are worth a bit more than £11 each now....

Re: Geo Joyce & Sons Ltd. ABC Belfrute identified
Interestingly, I can remember seeing a different version of this machine in a Yarmouth arcade in the 60's. It was a rather unexciting grey colour, with what I can only assume were cutout coloured perspex shapes forming the fruit symbols. It worked in the same way as the Belfrute, so maybe it was an ...

Re: Does anyone have pics of the Brenco Mystery Arrow?
Thanks for the advice - I also have some 1p size penny slots that I could use, another reason to opt for a 1p version, but I will bear in mind your suggestion!

Re: Does anyone have pics of the Brenco Mystery Arrow?
After another weekend of fruitless searching of the internet for a better pic, I decided to have a go at making one of these machines with the limited visual information I have. I could see that all the areas on the arrow board that are green have the "?" mystery payout symbol, and I was a...

Re: Anyone remember these large multi-players?
There is a brief shot of a Brenco "Tinky" in action in this rather grainy film of Belle Vue Amusement Park, Manchester, which also features a Dalek ride, Seeburg "Discotheque" jukebox, and some unidentified one-armed bandits....

Re: Does anyone have pics of the Brenco Mystery Arrow?
SO annoying that this 1960s film shows just a tantalising glimpse at 37 seconds in!

Re: Does anyone have pics of the Brenco Mystery Arrow?
I had a quick look at some pics and videos of the Rose and Crown, but the pub area looks fairly sparse - maybe the Mystery Arrow malfunctioned as was removed? Thanks anyway, it was fun going through the images!

I just noticed that, in a video uploaded to the site via YouTube, the Mayfield Electronic Dice game is featured in action, allbeit briefly, towards the end. Take a look!

Re: Does anyone have pics of the Brenco Mystery Arrow?
Getting back to the "Mystery Arrow", this is the only half-decent pic I could find on the net. (There seems to be nothing else out there, apart from a grainy monochrome version). 15826319_10210793887779707_1688060004285401708_n.jpg If anyone has one of these machines, I would love to see a...

Re: "Juicy Fruits" wall machine
Thank you - I would love to make a replica Brenco "Match-A-Fruit", but it would take a lot of planning, and many months experimenting for sure!

"Juicy Fruits" wall machine
I recently made a "Bar 1" style "flasher" fruit machine, the idea being to recreate a 60's style unit that does not use electronic components (except silicon diodes and electrolytic capacitors). The object is to match 3 symbols, the payouts being cherries 40p, plums 40p, oranges ...

Re: Does anyone have pics of the Brenco Mystery Arrow?
It seems to be quite an elusive machine, doesn't it... but thanks for the info. That in itself is interesting.

Does anyone have pics of the Brenco Mystery Arrow?
I remember this fascinating machine which gave me many hours of fun for my little bag of pennies at an arcade in Great Yarmouth in the 1960's. It featured a large chromed arrow, which repeatedly moved over the colourful prize sections in a random fashion, and the player had to bet on which amount th...

Interesting stuff pennymachines - I just wish I had the kind of cash that could buy as many machines as the American collector has!
