Re: 1950s British arcade photos

Some very interesting photos including 7 from that same arcade shown above (dated Dec 1951). This one (from a different arcade) caught my eye as interesting: samson nov co.jpg being interested in vending machines I also noticed a rare gas mantle vendor. gas mantal vendor.jpg The ranges were so calle...

Re: Aristocrat Starlite slot machine not working

Tom's right as always (well nearly always). It really looks like gummed up grease and oil. I don't know how much you know about this type of machine, but removing the clock and servicing it will make a big difference (there is a section in Tips & Tricks on this) and removing the reel bundle so as to...

Re: Hi from new Allwin collector

I would not worry about the legal side as you are using for personal use. Tom, I think this side issue cropped up because they might not be used for personal use: I intend putting the machines back into use as part of my vintage entertainment business offering a display of these as added attraction...

Re: Hi from new Allwin collector

Others, like JC, know more than I do but my guess is you might be better changing them back to 1d if you intend to use them. The gaming commission can be very picky about "gambling machines" I know. I know play a penny to perhaps win a penny but the gov won't see it that way. Best to play safe. JC w...

Re: Advice and help

You're right of course, I didn't take note of the two to the left. I was thinking more about if some horizontal fingers had been removed. Now BP has taken an interest things will move quicker. !THUMBS!

Handle is also one of their standard types, look through boland thread you will see lots of them.

Re: Advice and help

You say parts don't seem to be used, so we need to know which parts. The photo you show may or may not show modified parts. What it MIGHT show is that some horizontal fingers are missing. Bottom line is the machine only does three things, accept a coin correctly, cycle a game and pay out on a winner...

Not the hardest assumption to make, although I wonder if the case is newer.

Re: Interesting photo from the '50s

I don't remember seeing handles like those on the machines in the photo. Then today I was sent this photo and, although not exactly the same, they could be the same maker(?)
