Re: R&W Many Happy Returns Allwin

Fill-em-up was different as it paid cigarettes, Print the backflash on printable vinyl then either cover with self adhesive clear vinyl or get it laminated (laminated is better)

Re: Aristocrat Honey Bee

The hinge would be a bit strange, seems it would make life difficult at the factory !PUZZLED! . Need to at least see a photo of the handle but these often simply unscrew. Heating then cooling the metal might make it easier. The problem is getting a grip on it without damaging it.

Re: Pace

I believe the lock on the front releases the back door which has no lock at all. I thought the logo on the top was Jennings. Even the award card is not strictly the correct one, it's from a Comet.

Re: Garrett's cigarette vending machine

My God, these were expensive!! £5 in 1935 is equal to £310 today! That's a lot of 2d packets of fags to get your money back :o (true 2d works out at 51p today, but even allowing for 50% profit on a 2d packet that's 1200 packets to sell before you make a profit through the machine and that doesn't in...

Re: Arade of working models at Portsmouth Naval Dockyard

This is good news - the last time I was there all the machines were either out of order or turned front to the wall. The area they were in was not being used. Seems they have returned to life and been given a revamped area (although in the same general area). !!THUMBSX2!!

Re: Elephant House Auctions

This week's non-slot, no reserve auction at EH has, I think, nothing of interest to our hobby, although I am intrigued by the inflatable rear half of a full size aeroplane. You don't see those every day.

Superior confection Gold Award Bell identified

Lovely machine, made by Charles Fey, in San Francisco, but I've tried doing what it says at the top and it doesn't work for me. :NBG:
