Re: Sega Mark 10
They are called "Festoon bulbs" and are available on Ebay in some voltages. You need to know what power they are. I've certainly replaced these on German machines with Ebay bought ones in the past. update:- I just checked on Aliexpress and they now do them as LED, which would suit much bet...

Another use for slot artwork
Someone asked me to make some allwin top glasses to be used as decoration, the people were not connected with slot collecting in any way, they just liked the look of them, Today they sent me a photo of the finished items, and I have to say, I like them.

Re: Toffee and the Klaxon motor gearbox
I'm also no expert but I do know that gearbox grease was/is the norm for this sort of gearbox, but as I remember it it was injected in through a nipple, so, in this case, I don't know if the oil cap and oil filter makes a difference and it should be oil, but it seems unlikely. Gearbox grease is, of ...

Re: Bryans Clock with fruit dial
Still Bryans, but a little off subject: can someone tell me what the machine is on the far left of this advert? I dont know much about Bryans machines (interesting that it mentions the "Peep Show" in the advert but no allwins).

Re: Reels don't appear to be lining up for payout.
Two things: if there is more than one JP on each reel, the above post won't help much unless you are very lucky. Most likely the reel strips were put on in the wrong positions. The method above will fix this if the reel strips are on the correct reels, but even if they are on the correct reels but t...

Re: Fremont Hotel Mills High Top
Well done. Told you it was easy to remove the mech. Yes, the lemon payout is most likely where an operator has added a lemon and taken out a cherry to reduce the payouts (the plug in the payout disc has most likely been lost so it pays out like it originally did). Lemons are always losers (as in the...

Re: Fremont Hotel Mills High Top
as many of you know,I make a lot of replacement reel strips (around 100 sets per year now) and I have a huge database of symbols (more than 30 different bells for example) and the symbols on this machine are a bit odd, the bells are not typical of any mills machines, the cherries are Jennings, the m...

Re: Fremont Hotel Mills High Top
- is that because I described it as "good" or is there something you see that makes it clearly imperfect? you did say it does not payout correctly and has melons on the reels but not on the payouts, mechanically it looks great,it just needs sorting out a bit. as to taking out the mech, th...

Re: Fremont Hotel Mills High Top
or the other, perhaps more likely option, the case and mech are original and the banner and award card have been addedOf course the case may be original with a different mech; which is further suggested by the fact it's showing melons on the reels but not on the award card.

Re: Fremont Hotel Mills High Top
I've seen the Fremont top banner before but not the engraved award card, that is a nice touch, regardless of if it was ever in the Fremont I think the branding would increase the value a little, especially if it has been in the family for a long time. (it's worth mentioning that in any advert althou...

pretty much the same as all the others, possibly an old Pace mech rather than the usual mills, plus a photo of the unique rear door(never seen a photo of that before)

Re: Boland Black Beauty, Screen Stars, Brooklands, White City...
Another Boland saved by a contact of mine. Tom must have worked really hard to make EVERY machine just a little different. This one has the "stop" button on the left side of the reels and a rather nice "PULL" sign he must have found at the bottom of his "bits and bobs" ...

it is not perfect, but you can get good strips "ali-looking" plastic trim/edging that fits over edge and bends round corners, looks pretty good in fact.

Re: What did I buy?
don't be surprised if some parts are stamped MLB, many early Segas used Mills parts bought when Sega took over the Mills operation in their area, they also bought some of the tooling and many parts they made still had MLB on them for a while. Then,of course, this machine was working for years, possi...

Re: Sega Mark 10
As to the payouts, we need to see (and you need to examine) the slides first to see what coin they should take and if they are jammed with the wrong coins. Remove the slides and clean (do not oil), check if they take 6d or 1p, note how many slides there are and what size each one is. That's the star...
