Re: Exacta lock picking

Picking normal locks doesn't need skill...it needs practice and an understanding of what is going on inside the lock while you attempt to pick it. Clear practice locks are inexpensive and speed up your ability very quickly. Unless you're doing this every day it will never be easy but is not all that...

"Ginger" trade stimulator help please

I'm tasked with making a new set of reels for someone's Groetchen Ginger trade stim but there are multiple problems getting the strips right. Firstly the ginger is one of a very small number of trade stims that actually payout which means you can't simply put symbols anywhere, 2nd it appears only 6 ...

Re: What Does Your Future Hold machine?

obviously been butchered
I don't think so TF, I think the company(or companies) that offered this machine simply used the casting from the X ray for the fortune teller and covered the round hole with a blank square as the fortune didnt pretend to look at you like the x-ray

Re: Coventry or Collectors auction

clearly, BP has been sending photoshopped photos to the USA, the only "ruddy cheeks" on BP would be at the other end of his body and I for one would rather not see those. As for the auction situation, it's good Tom has started a thread, there has to be a first point of interest even if it'...

Re: Aristocrat date from serial number?

As to stamping the dates, I don't know (but I bet Aristo will), but it is quite easy to get approx dates from the style of label. Tthese started as the Ainsworth Dental equipment co and changed several times. The one you have is obviously a fairly late mechanical slot label, because the label mentio...

Re: Mills clone

A nice looking machine! As Tom says a lot of us have had one of the Sega clones at one time or another. They all have what amounts to a Mills mech (which is all but the same as the sega anyway) the two main giveaways are they never have the "Sega" logo cast into the lower front casting and...

Re: Rotating escalator Aristocrat Tic Tac Toe

Take no notice of BP, his sense of humor doesn't convert well to a foreign language........or English sometimes. The parts look very much like glass panel or wire retainers and easily get left out because they were really put there as double or triple protection against rough use. In a collec...

A jolly good read, at just the right time

Unfortunately, I had to attend a funeral a few days ago, a very good friend of mine but it has to be said he had a good inning at 95 years old. While waiting for the service to begin a picked up one of the thoughtfully provided leaflets the local authority (the green party) had provided(at public ex...

Re: Mills Extraordinary?

The left-hand indents are just architectural, to match the right-hand side, and were never used for tokens or vending I should have known, I originally thought that was the case then talked myself out of it because you see so many photos of what LOOK like one on each side AND loads with what LOOKS ...
