Re: Repairing ally castings

I had a crack in a Sega mad money front casting welded up using TIG method it worked very well, aluminium is not very easy, nigh on impossible to weld with any other method. Holes can be filled but you will need to dress and polish it up afterwards obviously. I would suggest you find a company that ...

Re: Very Clever Idea.. How to Fool Ebay

The Sega listed on eBay strangely !PUZZLED! looks like the exact same machine as listed on Henry Powells site at £995
I don't expect this one to go the distance and will probabally SkEpTiCaL have a deal done off eBay

Re: It's finally here!

Yes indeed, this was an electrical disaster  when I got hold of it but after some TLC and partial re-wire it's now working OK - even passing a class 3 PAT test along the way.

Re: It's finally here!

Hi Mark
Attached a couple of piccys of my Sega when I stripped it down... My top box has its own starter mounted inside and the wiring colours are different to what you say yours are, but may be of some use.

Re: Unusual payouts and feature on a Buckingham style slot

Dear Coppinpr It seems IA did not always blank off the Jackpot window as shown: 96_1_b.jpg ce_1_b.jpg DSC_0042.JPG But I'm afraid I did when I repro'd the glasses as the originals had seen better days. Of course, the originals went with the machine when I sold it. DSC_0030.JPG DSC_0034.JPG Strange t...

Re: Unusual payouts and feature on a Buckingham style slot

It certainly is an oddball, I have never seen anything from IA Ltd., Slough like this. My first machine was a Buckingham, which I restored and sold on a year later to fund a pinball machine. I could not find anything about IA Ltd. trawling through the net. I made the assumption they were bought out ...

Re: Mystery of 7th payout finger & bugs on reels

Thanks Treefrog - that explains it all, as I see in your picture !!CHEERS!! So I can assume this started life as a Diamond 3* and was at some point (hazard a guess in the late 60s) changed to a Mad Money bandit. As I said before, the topbox flash may be a repro but it is screen printed. Lettering sh...

Re: Mystery of 7th payout finger & bugs on reels

Hi treefrog, Thanks for that info. It seems a bit of a Mongrel then. The sixth finger defo drops the JP on Melon-Melon-Bar. The mystery payouts appear to be listed on the payglass: 10 coin payouts on orange, melon, bar combos. I have just repainted it in the standard Mad Money colours. Thanks for yo...

Re: Mystery of 7th payout finger & bugs on reels

Hi copinpr, I'm unsure if this Diamond 3* started its life as a Mad money machine as, when I stripped it, there were seven sixpences found trapped in the base of the machine and, by the state of them, they had been there for years. This machine was repainted at some point a two tone blue. The origin...

Mystery of 7th payout finger & bugs on reels

Hi learne'd people I hope someone can shed some light on my mech. The payouts are: 2, 5, 10, 14, 18 coins and JP+20 coins equal to six payouts but have 7 payout fingers (see piccy) PA240117.JPG As you can see, the 6th payout finger is pulled back but when engaged it drops the JP on Melon Melon Bar. ...

Re: New member to group

Hi,
Yes badpenny, the lights do work, surprisingly. Just need one more tube to complete the set.
I tried them when I first got it home..... Stood well away when I flicked the switch though.

Re: New member to group

Well the machine is done albeit for a few outstanding things to tidy up but all seems to function how it should. PA080110.JPG Biggest disappointment - the chroming: my local platers wanted £295 at least for re-doing all the chrome. The cash tray was a write off in his opinion as well as the handle a...

Re: New member to group

Hi The machine has in the past been repainted. Original colour was a cherry red. Looks like it was a proper job, though painted inside and out, but the castings were flaking paint all over due to water damage. The cash tray is the worst. See what the blasting reveals - re-chroming may be out of reac...
