Re: Important message please read
Thank you Kevin, I think that's a very fair and concise summation from my point of view as well. In fact I may well borrow some of it for a post on another forum if you have no objections?

Re: Important message please read
My contact at the Gambling Commission would like to go ahead with this plan, and would like to know of people's availability in May - either for a meeting in Birmingham or a couple of meetings in other parts of England. Please can interested parties post or PM me with their availability... bear in m...

Re: Important message please read
Thanks to Stuart for starting this off on here, I am the Alex Brown in question and I do indeed run the Fruit Machine Sales website, which you probably won't have heard of before now! I have had an interest in arcades and amusement machines for some years, and I have also been involved in the indust...

Re: Jennings "Indian Head" one arm bandit
Yes I see, thanks. If it doesn't sell I might message them with some polite suggestions regarding lowering the price a little. Or perhaps they aren't really in any hurry to sell and just listed it at a speculative price, that's always possible. But I do like to be able to offer advice to sellers whe...

Re: Jennings "Indian Head" one arm bandit
I don't have any more detailed specifics regarding this machine over and above what the seller has detailed in the listing which you can see via the link above. It's not my machine, it's just been listed on my site.
So back doors are often missing? And which parts are made from wood?

Re: Jennings "Indian Head" one arm bandit
None of the above, although the casing is similar to Bingo Belle; on closer inspection it is indeed a "Governor". Not sure how I missed the name, it's clear when I zoomed in! Here's the link, and I have hopefully attached the pic too. http://www.fruit-machine-sales.com/auction_details.php?...

Re: Jennings "Indian Head" one arm bandit
Any idea if I would be allowed to post a link? I don't want to upset anyone or be seen as spamming! So there are different variations of the machine presumably, and the "Indian Head" name is something of an umbrella reference for a number of machines with the same emblem on? Thanks for you...

Jennings "Indian Head" one arm bandit
Had one of these listed on my auction site and they are outside of my area of expertise (being very much pre-1970s)! It's listed for £800 buy-it-now, this seems quite reasonable? It's difficult to find too much on the web regarding value, some seem to be closer to £1000. Were these all 1950s era, or...

Re: Ebay & Gambling Licence
Yes that's some very good points. At the very least it's generating interest and debate, which is a good thing. It's unfortunate that these things take so long to change...

Also I can't get the Facebook link above to work?
It only opens when I right click and "Open in new window". Must be a problem with the frames on this site?

Re: Ebay & Gambling Licence
A lot of us on the MPU Mecca have signed this - it's ridiculous that stuff from the '70s and before is subject to the same rules as current, modern fruit machines. However I really have my doubts as to whether this will have any success - here are my thoughts, copied from where I posted them on the ...

Re: Ebay Killing its sales
Ebay promised that the new system would not have any effect on searches, but that appears to have turned out to be false. Not that I generally believe anything that Ebay says anyway...
