Thanks for your responses! - I have been fiddling around this afternoon and discovered that the problem is not the arm engaging with the cogs. When I drop a penny into the slot, this allows the arm to engage and cranks the 3 cylinders into a spin. The PROBLEM, I believe, could be the little flywheel...
