Re: A really Sad Story
WOW! the videos are brilliant and the actions outstanding. Many thanks for posting them and for your description, Gameswat.
I have built a few automatons with more than just one action and fully appreciate the work that has gone into building and repairing these Elephants.

Great story, Gameswat.
Do you know if there are any videos of the Elephant? It would be good to see one working, or why it was so complicated?

Re: Jennings - Red colour code of the paint
Many of the companies that supply car refinishing products have computerised colour matching equipment and can supply the paint in a tin or an aerosol can.
Hope this helps. John

I wonder, did the Tremble Tester have a shocking coil inside to give the player a belt when he touched the wire? It would certainly make you tremble if it did.

Re: Coin operated stereo viewers
Instruction card aside, I wonder if this was originally a domestic, rather than a coin-operated, viewer. Did you notice where the slot was located? Sorry no, the top of the piano was at head height so I could not see the top of the viewer at all. They were very busy with the fairground organs so I ...

Whilst visiting The Grange Musical Museum's Fairground Organ Day near Diss, Norfolk on Sunday I spotted this viewer. It was on top of a player piano so difficult to photograph.

Re: Unusual and interesting Canadian-made coin shooter
Coppinpr wrote; Two things that struck me: 1. The instructions hints a win will pay "all the coins in the cup". How would it be possible to have more than one coin in the cup? 2. Why did it need four bells!! I think that the target would be a short vertical slot in the front of the black ...

This YouTube video gives some idea of the dust problem mentioned above. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YyZTGKTCKj0 I thought this was the best comment. Remember you are pumping air into the cabinet so it doesn't just need sealing it needs somewhere for all the air to escape from otherwise you will...

Re: What were the very first electrical slot-machines that weren't shockers?
This from the Rock-Ola Store in America In 1890 Louis Glass and William S Arnold modified an Edison Class M Electric Phonograph with a coin mechanism, making it the world’s first nickel in the slot phonograph. It had no speakers; patrons had to listen to the music using one of four listening tubes....

Re, The sequence memory game suggestions.
There are some light up memory games that you could probably strip the guts out of and extend the wiring to suit your telephone exchange. Simon Says and Tap-It might be useful donors of parts.
