Re: EH / Collector Connector sales
Well sadly thanks to our wondrous leaders and their lack of foresight the 21st June won't happen as we all knew it wouldn't. I'm not a regular poster on here but thought I would write a few words about Collector Connector. To be fair to Steve he has clearly put many many hours into the creation of a...

Re: Some members can't login
I am experiencing a login problem. At first I thought it was fat finger trouble, but I am now being very careful and still experiencing it. On first login I get 'Submitted form is invalid' and am represented with a panel to re-enter my id and password. On the second attempt it always works. Not a hu...

Re: Bryans Clock
Many thanks by the way to whoever created and uploaded the clock face to this forum. I am sure it must have helped out a lot of people restoring these machines.

Re: Bryans Clock
Thanks for all the replies. I had toyed with keeping the original clock face but those marks you can see are actually rust and are worse than they look in the pic. I may still change my mind on that, but I have now managed to get the new clock face and the instruction insert printed correctly thanks...

Re: Bryans Clock
Thanks for the replies. A screen shot would not be an accurate size. Printing as a GIF appears to be a problem as the image breaks up. That's why I wanted to try to change the file format. The CorelDraw image is fine and I have sized it correctly but I don't have an A3 printer and the print shop doe...

Re: Bryans Clock
Next question, if someone would be so kind. I found the 12 win clockface in Resources and have been trying to copy and print it. I do realise it needs an A3 printer but I just can't get the size right. It's stored as a GIF file which will only print with a broken up image. I tried the trick someone ...

Re: Bryans Clock
Thanks, treefrog. Does seem a bit daft. I tried filling the jackpot container and the stack. Wow what an avalanche! I had to fool it into twelve o'clock to win though. Would have taken weeks to get it to randomly stop there. There also seems to be a little springy device attached to the clock wheel ...

Bryans Clock
I just acquired this 12 win Bryans clock. It needs a bit of a service but it all seems to be there and it works. It would appear to have a jackpot feature which pays out from the container behind the window on the left if the two hands finish on the twelve in addition to the 24 coins which pay out f...

Re: EH Online only auctions
It's an interesting concept and I'm looking forward to seeing how it will work. OK if you are a buyer or seller living close to the EH. In my case it's a four hour round trip (on a good day!). As I wouldn't want to bid on something I haven't actually seen and touched it's probably not for me. I'll s...

Re: Elephant House Auctions
In reply to GM. Work it out. I don't think Gloria does have bids on the book. I think it's probably just a way of using a reserve price to push the bids up. Sometimes the book appears to win but the item turns out to be unsold. Steve has all the commission bids but why does he have to control everyt...

Re: More bloody stupid ebay rules
If you are registered as a business seller your personal eBay address is available for potential buyers so they can't stop contact by that method. Selling costs more though in that it is 10% of the full selling price with no upper limit (personal seller fees are capped at £250). So the selling fees ...

Re: Beware the Elephant House Auctions
Nice to hear that EH are actually sorting out the roof. It had many leaks. It always concerned me that items left there for auction may not be protected from the elements. It would also be a good idea to get some form of heating, if only minimal. I, for one, am put off EH auctions in very cold weath...

Re: Coventry Auction - Sunday 27th November 2016
Well I, for one, was looking forward to the Coventry auction and now I'm torn. Seems like a deliberate attempt by EH to scupper Coventry which already had its date set. Offering sellers the opportunity to sell at no commission must surely be a draw for them so it does seem a but unfair but I suppose...

Re: Elephant House Auctions
What's happening to these auctions? The 24th July is supposed to be Vintage Amusements + Jukeboxes, Americana & Rock-n-Roll Retro. Really? Can't see me driving 100 miles for that stuff. Might as well go to a boot sale.

Re: New Colron wood dye and Nitromors formulas
Nitromors should be reported under the trade descriptions act. That stuff does not strip paint. I took the overpriced rubbish back to B&Q and told them it did not do what it said on the tin. I got a full refund. I have been using Starchem Synstrip available on eBAY. It's an industrial stripper a...
