Re: Electro-mechanical Wall Machines
Just thought I'd share this with you all. About 10 years ago I attended the annual amusement machine auction at Coventry for the very first time. The night before, I found all these wonderful machines being displayed on YouTube. I was looking to find out more about what I had seen and played on as a...

Re: Electro-mechanical Wall Machines
You deserve a medal for the work you've done in supplying us all with these review videos. The description of the machines themselves and the explanation of the times you played them back in the '60s & '70s, together with your enthusiasm is infectious. I love to see these machines working as the...

Re: User personal gallery image uploads
Is the gallery supposed to be for your own images only? just someone has posted a picture of one of my machines that I had in Coventry auction for some reason? https://pennymachines.co.uk/Forum/gallery/image/421 !WHOOPS! !SURRENDER! Just to explain: This is a personal image of a machine I previousl...

Re: Bradley Salectric shocker
Gameswat, I know I'm about twelve months behind on this topic but having just read it, I can't agree more with everyone else's praise for you and your work on this machine. You have brought something of beauty back to life that had previously, well and truly expired. Despite not knowing how it all w...

Okay, thank you for letting me know.
That is a shame...
I thought it was either me or problems with my device/access.

User personal gallery image uploads
I am interested to see images in the (gallery section) of this website from other members collection's but seem to be having difficulty. I would also like to upload and share one or two images of my own but keep getting a warning/failure code.!! !PUZZLED! I can see other members may have had a simil...

Re: What is it about vintage arcade machines that attracts us exactly?
Thank you guys for your responses. lt seems to be that our childhood memories or inquisitive interest for an earlier period is the true fascination for us. It's interesting what ddstoys said about:"never having played them but can recall seeing them from an early age"..!! It's something he...

What is it about vintage arcade machines that attracts us exactly?
This a question that has occurred to me over and over, I just love them. The modern machines simply doesn't do it for me. I put it down to the old penny arcades simply having a unique charm of their own with the many attractive and ingenious machines/devices to play on and to explore. For me, they h...

Re: Shefras Shares allwin
An escalator..?? I think you are absolutely right about person preference. My other wall machines already have lovely wooden doors so a little colour helps to add appeal and brightens up the collection. I'm not a big fan of Formica or veneers unless they are original and in extremely good condition....

Re: Shefras Shares allwin
Thank you Brigham for your comments, I appreciate your point of view, as we all have our own personal tastes and it simply wouldn't do for us to be the same. Thought I had upset the traditionalists amusement machine collectors. I have fell in love with this old classic and don't have any intention o...

Re: Shefras Shares allwin
Wow.. Thank you so much.
It's only the plywood door face that's painted, the rest of the case including the door itself is waxed bare Oakwood.
Because, believe it or not I too like to see beautiful woodwork.

Re: Shefras Shares allwin
I'm sorry that it's not to your taste but I certainly wasn't happy with it as it was, having stripped the whole case of the very dark and damaged varnish it revealed a beautiful natural coloured Oakwood case with a pale plywood front door cover..!! The chrome door fittings had previously been polish...

Re: Shefras Shares allwin
The first tuppence is delivered to the player from the primary coin tube via the slide set beneath it, as it is pulled by the mechanism one way, then as the spring returns the slide back again to its original position it pushes a further tuppence into the cashbox directed by a tin chute.
