Re: Anyone with a spare cog wheel for a Caillie or Greyhound Stadium mechanism please?

Thank you for your reply and I had thought of that as a last resort but I do know out there in the past I have seen quite a lot of new parts. Re: 2 Roll-a-Penny boards. Any advice?

Thank you pennymachines. I had a memory loss once I got writing. Hope everyone doesn't now start peeling to look at their artwork on their old machines and spoil any? I bought a Bryans Clock full mechanism once at a local auction where three machines had come for sale plus a Clock mech' and it had h...

Re: 2 Roll-a-Penny boards. Any advice?

Thank you all of you and Gameswat. I will try some of the ideas you all stated especially the duct tape. Only got them on Sunday and haven't had time to properly lift them out from cover as it seems to just keep raining! I will probably also look to lift a little off canvas as it seems to be maybe s...

Re: 2 Roll-a-Penny boards. Any advice?

Took a few pictures. It looks like there might be earlier artwork underneath? A little woodworm on the smaller board top runner but treatable! I seem to love these challenges. I will have to work this out. As a person used to say when his wife told him about any job in the house "This is going ...

2 Roll-a-Penny boards. Any advice?

Just bought 2 old roll a penny boards off ebay. Any tips to clean the playfield up and the front bit looks like they painted over early writing. Any ideas to remove top coat of paint? The wooden board seems well made but I was really surprised that the full area where you roll the pennies altogether...

Re: Long stored Mills mech reels don't spin

Oh thanks for that info'. Boland and Mills mechs does now seem to sound right! I remember in the early 1960s at the Hull Fair where the vintage machines were always in great numbers, they not only used the existing buildings but also purpose penny arcade structure buildings. They even used to have s...

Re: Long stored Mills mech reels don't spin

Oh, thank you Special When Lit for your two pictures. I was putting the part where the screw goes in the wrong way 'round. No wonder I couldn't get the spring on. I used the spring puller then to hook the spring in... and it's going, and paying out well... Very addictive to keep putting old pennies ...

Re: Long stored Mills mech reels don't spin

Thank you special when lit. I was going to give up and wait to find someone to sort it... but your pictures are clear and encourage me again, so will have a go in a day or two! The rest of it runs well as they were in really rusty seized state when I bought them. I have put two pictures on of the tw...

Re: Long stored Mills mech reels don't spin

Thank you for your reply and diagram, they help a lot. I tried pulling the spring with nylon string but isn't easy to hook on. Also bought a heavy duty spring puller and it's ok but I have the same problem on hooking it in, as the tool takes up too much room. Thank you

I have had this to bits so please help. Is this the right way, as now to go on with the long bottom part that goes to the front to push the slides back. Just needs putting on and the nut tightening?
