Re: Mills Poinsettia identified

I'm having trouble explaining this. Can we agree that the original Mills idea was to have TWENTY fruit symbols on each reel, even though there were only ten possible stops, for the purpose of making it LOOK as though the player had 'just missed' or was 'one off'? Now, let's look again at the machine ...

Re: Mills Poinsettia identified

I don't believe I've EVER seen a machine, Mills or otherwise, with a ten-stop mech. and just ten fruit symbols of 20-stop size, spaced out with ten GAPS.
This is what we seem to be looking at here.

Re: Ebay fees scrapped !!!

My rule is 'If I buy it, I pay for it'.
That's why I don't bid if there aren't enough pictures.
A winning bid is a winning bid, not a 'permit to view'.

Re: Mills Poinsettia

Topic moved & merged - Site Admin. Speaking of Poinsettias on eBay, has anyone seen this? MILLS POINSETTIA ONE ARM BANDIT, GOOD CONDITION. VINTAGE ARCADE. OLD PENNY . It looks good, but there's something odd. It seems to be 10-stop; but with 20-stop symbols at 10-stop intervals! Not sure about the ...

Re: Triple Crown

Which relay pulls-in when the coin switch makes contact? This is the place to start. Is it still pulled-in AFTER the game is over? If so, we can trace the contact which latches it, and find out what, exactly, is supposed to drop it out. Once we can insert a coin, pull the handle, and be back at the ...

Re: Triple Crown

The problem with the bottom rotor being the variator is that all the contacts in the ring appear to be wired together! I would be checking for continuity between mains live, mains neutral, and the motor casings. It would be unusual for the live side to be 'on the chassis', although not unknown in ...

Re: Triple Crown

The top left controller, the one with the paxolin disc, is probably the credit controller. Are the contacts which engage with the notches opening and closing correctly? I'm guessing that this disc controls the coin in/ pull one/ pull two/ insert coin sequence. Are the 'start' contacts on the pull ...

Re: Triple Crown

What a good looking machine with the lights on. I'm guessing that the original payouts were all 1/- (2x6d) except the Gold Award (1x5/-), same as the PE Bally conversions. Do you think that the new penny bodge could have been done more recently? It might be worth trying the NEW 10p in the gold award ...

Re: Somewhere in Bridlington

Three Bells has had an operator mod, by the look of it, to remove a payout.

On Three Bells...?
