Re: A tricky ID question for the Gurus

I've ordered the film.
It looks like a Bryans Allwin; could it be a yet-undiscovered Bryans product?

Re: Broken bottom slide

It looks as though a tab has broken-off from the front centre of the slide, but I'm guessing it's just repetitive striking of the front edge.

Outbid on the Green Ray.
It looked to be in unrestored condition. A remarkable survivor, if so.

Re: Cam fruit machine

I'm guessing that's CAM Automatics of Seaham Harbour, although I've never seen a German conversion by that maker.
It's impressive. The artwork is nicely done.
Does it still have the long 15-second play?

If it's for a Powell's Automatics O-X-O, it's a definite improvement!

Re: Punch and Judy Allwin - rough value?

I have a couple of 'Nostalgic' allwins.

They are probably useful as a base to make a home-brew allwin.

I remember the second one.

It was full of kids talking over each other, incoherently.

Some people clearly have no respect for half-a-crown.

Looks really good.
Did you build the cabinet, or use one from a left-over Bryan's Post Card Vendor?
Great result either way!

Re: Back to Night School

Reversing a DC motor by changing the input polarity only applies to permanent-magnet motors, usually found in Hornby train sets.
To reverse a 'proper' motor, you need to reverse the field connections OR the armature connections, but not both.

I went through a Bally 'phase' about ten years ago.
The only ones I have now are the PE Gold Award conversions.
They thankfully don't have the hopper payout!

These people have taken fanaticism to the point of insanity.

Their actual position is this: Galloper rides encourage people to think that riding horses is acceptable.

Well it is!

He will also supply you with a less hideous belly glass. I don't know which is worse; Fiesta or Carousel, but both make me feel ill just looking at them.

'Baloons' at 0:21 must be a rarity.
Among the new stuff at the end, 1:13, a blurred view of the 'helicopter versus the flying saucers' game I used to play in Smith's Arcade, Butlin's Filey.
JINGLE had one, years back, but it was £400...

The EXAMINER

Has anyone heard of The EXAMINER, a Little Stockbroker conversion with, seemingly, a different gameplay?
It's on eBay, with an even more fantastic price than the one which sold at the Elephant House last month, but without the hole hacked into the front.
