Re: 1938 Mills Vest Pocket

I just would like to show you the finished restoration. I know it's a little unusual colour, but I like the look. Here you can see the before and after pictures. Thank you for your help.

1938 Mills Vest Pocket

Hi, I brought a Mills Vest Pocket trade stimulator in November at the Elephant House Auction, I have looked for one for a while but have never been able to afford the high prices they are now fetching. I won it for a good price but it had a couple of issues. The coin slide was very stiff and tended ...

Re: Fun at the fair Nostalgic Machines restoration

Thank you very much for all your advice, it works nicely now. I was afraid I would get a roasting for changing the original look but I'm very pleased you agree with me over the improved look.

Fun at the Fair Nostalgic Machines restoration

Can anyone help me? For years I have wanted an Allwin machine, but could not afford one. But recently I was offered at a bargain price a Nostalgic. It was in poor condition, faded back flash and rusted, so I have tried to restore it to how I thought a '50s type of machine should look. IMG_5295a.jpg ...

Re: Sega Bell Reels

That looks fantastic. I really only went the powder coat route for the durability, so it would stand up to the grandchildren.
To fill the holes I was going to try Teahnicqll cold weld repair which takes temperature up to 1200c. But I'm not sure if it can be coated.

Re: Sega Bell Reels

I didn't really mean to have it powder coated, I was just going to have it bead blasted for £30 and then spray it, but when he said the powder coat would only cost £40 I thought I would go with that. They baked it first to get air bubbles out of the casting then coated it before baking on the finish...

Re: Sega Bell Reels

As an aside I have just collected the casting of my High Top from a company in Windsor called MicroBlast Services. They bead blasted off all the old paint and powder coated outside and inside in under 24 hrs. and for only £70. A realy nice job.

Re: Sega Bell Reels

Ah yes you are right there has been an insert put in to the coin entry, and the imprint on the coin run is 31mm, the size of an old 1d. The coin entry without the insert is also 31mm. The coin overflow tube is also 1d size. So it looks like I need to change the coin stack tube, the payout slides and...
