Re: Fun at the Fair Nostalgic Machines restoration
I acquired a Nostalgic Machines 'Hole In One' and the backflash is -predictably- sun damaged/discoloured and warped.. So I wonder if anybody knows of a template for it.. ..Or could I replace it with a similar backflash? Its a mk 1 machine.. I know this machine isn't exactly an enthusiast's choice, b...

Wow. And you worked on 'Tommy'? Great movie (my experience of seeing in particularly enhanced his mum!) but I can't watch it now cos of different feelings when seeing those pinball machines being smashed up! V best from dismal Oxfordshire.. Martyn

Re: My half penny play Payramid
Well, progress with my 1/2d Payramid; great news; as pennymachines suggested, the original 1/2d WAS behind some plastic padding (pooh!) filler on the top casing, so I am somewhat chuffed.. Thanks Guv'..

Re: Live from Coventry
Well, I can confirm that both those posted 'results' and the postee were absolutely 'live' at yesterday's auction, which I had the pleasure of attending.. Some lovely machines -must admit I was tempted by the Bryan's Gap- but it was tooo much, but I found consolation in the purchase of a 'pinball' b...

Are those Payramids at this Sunday's Coventry auction? The catalogue seems to stop at item 193!

Re: My half penny play Payramid
I'm really pleased to be the custodian of my halfpenny mk1 type Payramid, and I must admit I paid a lot (+100s) more than £1,500; but I would love to compare it to others 'in the flesh' as it were. Is the collection at the Drayton Manor 'family park' worth a peep? Oh - I hope to be able to attend th...

Re: My half penny play Payramid
I must tell you I paid in excess of £1500... probably too much I now realise but it is quite a rare machine so OK over the long-term I hope!

Re: My half penny play Payramid
Thanks for comments. Yes; it's a 1/2d play- coin conversion removed. Instruction card is glued in and is rather rough; needs to be replaced; anyone got one they could copy for me please? Locks being refurbished. You know, I think I'm inclined to agree about the chrome/obvious age etc... But I intend...

Hi from foggy Oxfordshire
Goad afternoon Forum chaps and chapesses; introducing myself; I am a retired chap, named Martyn; I live near Oxford. I have always been fascinated by mechanical things and electro-mechanical things like jukeboxes and one-armed bandits... About 30 years ago, before the kids were born, I owned a 'prop...
