Re: Automatic Sports Co. Cricketer at HutchinsonScott

I'm amazed a Cricketer was still being operated so 'recently', yooser27. Great to hear those memories. Yes, do quiz your brother. !THUMBS! Hello, My brother doesn't remember much more than me except that the cricket game was boring I will be going past Raby Mere tomorrow and will have a nostalgic l...

Re: Rusty Sega

Looking good!! especially the art work  Whenever I see that sort of wear on the escalator it always makes me wonder what a 6d machine like this one earned over its working life. What do people think? £10,000? £20,000 :!?!: Hello, It's amazing the amount of money fruit machines take. I bought a ...

Re: Automatic Sports Co. Cricketer at HutchinsonScott

Hello, The photos of the Ye Olde Cricket Match brought back some happy memories playing on a similar machine at Raby Mere on the Wirral 60 plus years ago! It looked ancient when we played it, due to style of clothing of the cricketers and the general look of the machine. The colours were much darker...

Re: Best old penny arcades in UK?

Hello,
The Anderton Boat Lift is open, as far as I can be certain, from Friday to Monday. The hours are 10.00 am to 3.00 pm, all due to the dreaded Covid-19.
I think next year also will be a challenge to every event - worst luck!!
All the best from Neale.

Re: Aristocrat Arcadian pull effort

Hello,
I've adjusted the dog and anvil ,which sounds like a pub name ! all now seems to be working O.K. the pull now needed is about 15 lbs which is much less than before, the reels spin O.K. and it pays out.
Many thanks from Neale.

Re: Aristocrat Arcadian pull effort

Hello, The amount of pull needed hasn't changed much since I bought the Arcadian quite a few months ago (I didn't check the poundage required when I got the machine). It wasn't in the best of health when I got the machine, but with much help from a number of fellow enthusiasts on the forum it's now ...

Aristocrat Arcadian pull effort

Hello, I hope someone has an idea of the correct poundage pull required for my Aristocrat Arcadian. It seems not too bad to me at about 24 lbs, but the Boss thinks it's a bit heavy. One reel (usually the reel furthest to the right) will occasionally spin very slowly and sometimes it will go backward...

Re: Aristocrat Arcadian

Hello , Sorry for the long delay ,but other jobs cropped up ! I've had a good check over as suggested and have attached some photos. I tried to get a payment with the bottom horizontal finger temporary locked in place to stop it moving ,then set up a two cherry win , it paid out four coins, then I tr...

Re: Aristocrat Arcadian

Thanks again to all for your helpful replies. I have now (as suggested) held the horizontal fingers back and cycled to see if the slides go all the way back - yes they do! But, they don't pay out! I pulled out the very bottom large slide with the 32 mm diameter hole, the one that sticks out from the...

Re: Aristocrat Arcadian

Thank you for your quick replies, I have checked for jammed coins in the slides etc., also I checked (as suggested). I spin the wheels and they stop in turn from the left to the right, then another clank noise as the vertical fingers travel to the discs, then a final clank as the slides are released...

Aristocrat Arcadian

Hello all, I have an aristocrat Arcadian that I bought at the Elephant Auction a few months ago, now I have a bit of spare time I've had a proper look at the machine. There are a few problems, It doesn't payout any coins , the reels spin O.K. , they stop from left to right, the vertical levers are pu...

Re: Advice and help

Hello, I've just had a proper look at the payout slides (photos B & C). There are 4, not 3, as I first thought, and there appears to be a thin slide beneath the others and it is connected to a weak spring under the other springs (photo A). It has a large hole in the middle - but due to lack of s...

Re: Advice and help

Hello, There are 3 slides. The 2 vertical fingers (ringed yellow) have been shortened; the other ones have had the ends crudely modified. I haven't a clue why? You're correct that the extra stuck on lemon and two oranges all had melons underneath them! It's slowly making sense. I think I'll have to ...

Re: Advice and help

Hello, Thank you for your kind offer. I'd like to accept your offer of seeing a correct mechanism working, as you say mine has been butchered. I did wonder why the levers had been modified quite crudely and also it appeared that some of the horizontal sides were missing etc. I assume it was done by ...

Re: Advice and help

Hello, I have been checking the items as you've suggested: Item 1, Yes, when the handle is pulled the reels spin without needing a coin to be used. Item 2, Yes, the reels spin and stop sharply from the left to the right. Item 3, Yes, on 3 bars the bottom 2 horizontal levers moved out and paid 2p. Fo...

Re: Advice and help

Hello, Thank you very much for your time and help with my problems. I have spent quite a long time operating the machine watching each part move and how it interacts with other levers. There are a number of parts which appear to be not used and for some reason are not connected! I know you mentioned...

Re: Advice and help

Hello, Thanks yet again for more of your kind help, I've taken some more photos of which I've coloured in the levers which will hopefully help. The original photo 2 was the wrong one I posted! It should have been photo C. On original photo 3 the unconnected lever doesn't move when I pull the handle....
