Re: Sega Silver Victory

There is a chrome effect powder coat. I haven't used it but it might be worth discussing it with your powder coating guys. I guess it would be much cheaper than real chroming. I've put a link to it below.

Re: Ebay Beromat "B"

Also on Ebay from the same seller is this strange looking machine - a Goldene Zwolf. It's innards are exactly the same as a Gunter Wulff Beromat but that case. :!:
Anyone got any idea about how it came to look like this?

Re: Removal, basic maintenance & repair of Beromat etc. mechanism

Glad you have it sorted and have returned it to the proper 15 seconds running time. Any chance of a picture (inside and out)?

We wouldn't want it any other way, BP. But steer away from buckets of water and 3 phase electrickery.

Re: Electrickery bits and bobs help needed

Well done JC, that seems to solve it. I have never seen that 'shorthand' for a suppressor before and I imagine it really looks like the attached picture.

Re: Electrickery bits and bobs help needed

That is the weirdest thing I have seen for a long time. It seems to be 3 capacitors, one 0.1 micro Farad and 2 x 2500 pico Farad. The notation SW on the right does suggest that it is designed to go across a mains voltage switch as a suppressor, as JC suggests. But suppressors are usually just a capa...

Re: How to remove the mechanism from a Beromat

Thought you might be interested in a translation of the German text which is usually pasted in the cabinet: Please note! Refill the machine 1. Push the left movable locking lever in the sorter to the left and hold it in this position. 2. Insert coins one after the other into the feed channel of the ...

Re: Ball bearing sizes

Can anyone suggest a good supplier for ball bearings please? I have been restoring a 'Many Happy Returns' by Ruffler & Walker but I am finding it difficult to get 14mm ball bearings (chrome steal?). I bought some that claimed to be 14mm but found they are really 9/16 inch and was surprised to fi...

Dirk 55 - brilliant work on the Cresta Run case too. Did you rebuild it from scratch?

Re: Re-chromed shiny bits

For my latest project I used ChromeFix. Although they quoted 2 to 3 weeks, it was nearer 6 weeks before the parts were returned. From what others have said, that sounds pretty good. They use cyanide based copper plating which means they can plate alloy as well as steel and brass. They weren't cheap ...
