Keeping the hobby going

It's simple, if you are keen enough you will attend.

I travelled over 150 miles (300 round trip) to attend the Huntingdon auction, I wanted a machine and it meant travelling........ end of story.

Thanks for that Bent Copper, will indeed try it. Just looked on Melvyn Wrights sight and saw the small picture of an award card, I had noticed a pin sticking out of the playfield of my 10 cup just under the first runner (see photo) and wondered what it was for - now I know. Where would we be without...

Bryans 10 Cup

I have a Bryans 10 cup purchased recently and have a question that perhaps someone out there could answer. I am aware that in all Bryans machines anything painted red is operator adjustable. In the centre of the 10 cup mechanism is a small lever held firm by a red screw. The lever is bent in slightl...

Re Philip Shefras? allwins

Interesting thread here. Dave, your Win a Gum looks exactly like my Fruit Polo, all the metalwork and the case, with the exception of the penny entry slot which is the same as an O.W. penny entry casting, although it is not set at an angle as mine is. How are the pennies collected in Win a Gum In my...

Re Philip Shefras? allwins

Thanks for the info Daveslot, few nice machines there. The cases look quite similar to mine but I can see that the metalwork is different. I have attached a couple of pics showing the inside of my machine and wondered whether O.W. could have produced the mechanism for another allwin producer of thes...

Not only do we live in castles but we are also healthy as most of our 'bathrooms' are still outside and at the bottom of the garden just like the one in the attached photo taken during last winter, note the door on the left, it leads to a typical games room.

Win a Pack of Fruit Polos

Topic merged - Site Admin. Just thought you would like to see my latest machine acquired few days ago. Oliver Whales fruit polo, the only problem is that the size of the modern polos will not fit as they are too long. I have found that 'love hearts' will fit if one sweet is taken out either end, an...

Ah Badpenny, those ubiquitous words uttered by our wives FORGET IT. It used to be far more romantic utterances years ago. I only have four allwins and in my wifes eyes that is about 20 to many. Still, she has agreed to a couple being put in our study, which is about as big as one of Jeff's pinball t...

This is a lovely looking machine, how scarce is this type of O.W. machine, ie sweet pay-out allwin?
