Re: Swastika Symbol on Coin Operated Machines

The swastika on the first machine IS unusual as it points the wrong way for the good luck version. The Nazis reversed the Buddhist (and several other old religions) good luck symbol for their flag/logo. The one on the Gold Seal is the one used for good luck. The first one IS the Nazi version althoug...

A little bit of fun?

Someone asked me to make a customised glass featuring Laurel & Hardy for the Wulff Bingolux he has with no glass. So I cut in some images of the two I found online and removed some of the original art (very few photos of this machine available). Not my style at all, give me the original every time, ...

Re: Mills Hi Top cash box door

I don't think these were ever produced by Mills, but only as conversions for operators who wanted to give keys to mechanics without allowing access to the cash, so they must vary quite a bit. I could be wrong, but don't think so. Wrong locks for Mills of course, but I guess that could have been chan...

Re: nerves of steel

I read years ago that a large number of the men who did this job came from a Native American tribe of plains Indians who came from an area with no high terrain and they had absolutely no natural fear of heights

Re: Payout slides Removal and replacement

Springs are available in the UK (I did have a link to a UK spring company several collectors have recommended but,of course, I can't find it now dirtdog ) but the old springs should be ok as long as they have not stretched pulling against the rust if they have, shorten them up a bit as a temp measur...

1927 "amusement ground" court case

This case most likely refers to live games rather than machines but clips like this are always of interest. I do like the way the piece sets the tone by saying the "Harrow Road Amusement Ground" was situated "between the police station and the church".

Re: previously unknown catcher by Handan-ni ?

Ah, I didn't link the two together as I didn't know the maker of the one I posted then, and it's quite a bit different from the long case version here and I don't think it has Dominos on the clock (I didn't notice Mr P's photo of the same machine). !THUMBS!

previously unknown catcher by Handan-ni ?

Topic moved & merged - Site Admin. A member on my web site sent me this photo of a machine he's been asked to repair (he doesn't have it yet so this is the only poor photo so far). It's marked as made by Handan-Ni. I've heard of their "Bomb Dropper", "Conqueror's Flags" and "Clown" but not this mas...
